We are now using an automated caching system that should speed things up by caching frequently used data before the server has a chance to query the database for that server. We have also moved avatars and sig images and such from the database to file storage method. This will eliminate many queries from the database and allow it to do the job it was meant to be.
It seems snappier to me. I sure hope you find the same exciting results that we have found.

Hey everyone, we have upgraded JSR to vBulletin 3.8.0 beta 1. Lot's of exciting new features. Some may not be active till I poke around and turn them on or adjust settings. The new additions to social groups may make squad forums redundant. We'll have to see. So check out the new features and post any bugs or comments. Thanks
Social Group Discussion Threads
- Messages in Social Groups are now threaded into 'Social Group Discussions'.
- Discussion are sortable by creator, replies and last post.
- Discussions can be filtered with a simple full text search on titles.
- Discussions can be managed with Inline Moderation to soft delete, physically remove, approve and unnapprove them.
- Discussions are Read Marked using both database and cookie methods, with a jump to go to first new post.
- Users can subscribe to discussions and receive email notifications on new messages.

Yep that's right. If your game is a big enough hit and interesting nowadays you get a movie. Imagine Jumpgate Evolution the movie. I will go see it if only for the reason that I like the game so much. Gore Verbinski will make it so let's hope it's at least as good as Pirates of the Caribbean. Take-Two did not disclose financial terms of the deal or other details, such as when the film would be released. The company is the target of a $2 billion takeover bid by rival game publisher Electronic Arts Inc.
Released last August for Microsoft Corp's Xbox 360 game console, "BioShock" won praise for its complex story, haunting art deco atmosphere and creepy characters such as Big Daddies and Little Sisters.

I will be doing a lot of work on the site in the near future which may cause lot's of problems for you as I do them. We are far behind on vBulletin updates so I will have to do a lot of manual template edits because of the customized style. Just a warning to all you lurkers. I figure hardly anyone is posting, nothing new has come from Jumpgate Evolution in months, and the devs never come here anymore. So I might as well tear the place up and get it up to par.
Of course this will mean exciting new features. It will also mean some old ones may not function. I doubt it but you never know.
So just a heads up for you. If you find problems let me know. I may start this in a few days.
