At first I thought it was Odiche's fault. But then I realized it was Chubain's evil deeds that brought on this horrific event. The greedy little bastard won the high score on one too many arcade games and overloaded the system. It was kind of like when they gave the big boy the last mint in Monty Pythons Meaning of Life. The whole thing blew. What a mess. This resulted in a full system reset in the arcade. Now you point and click bastages will have to fight for dominance all over again.
Good luck, and remember, don't blame Odiche, blame Chubain.
This should keep you suckers busy as I take my long leave of absence in a secluded monastery for the next six months. Good Luck

As you all may well know by now, Netdevil has given us another "10 months ago" announcement. The first one was the shocker that they had been secretly working on Jumpgate Evolution back in June of 2007. Now it's the fact that they are no longer the indie group we have stuck with over these long and empty years. And haven't been for some time now it seems. Now they are part of an investment portfolio for these guys -Gazillions investment group. So while it may be true that there are now more resources to get the game to market. You can no longer rest your hopes on Scott Brown and companies passion to remake their first love. Which of course is Jumpgate, the game that started it all for them.
From now on, or ten months ago it seems, Jumpgate Evolution is no different than "Linen's and Things", "Circuit City, AGEIA,or any other investment holding out there today. If things... [Read More]

As an old gamer community this issue is not new to us. We have seen many old friends pass on. We know of these because someone in the community had RL contact or their loved ones had access to the community. Still, what of those many more that have simply disappeared? We hope they are simply lost in WoW but how would we ever know.
Interesting article on the topic as well as a new cottage industry that is popping up. Is it worth $20 a year to let unmet friends know you have left the game for good? It's definately a sign of how gaming has changed the social fabric of our society. I suspect that we are not far from seeing "virtual funerals". I believe we have had a few ourselves over the years in game.David Eagleman, a neuroscientist at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, has had plenty of time to think about the issue.
