Solrain Cornea (TRI-FP) - In recent days Solrain's Cornea, a Bravo class station and its surrounding sector have weathered multiple waves of Sentient Conflux attacks that have brought turmoil to the region. Often classed as Solrain's backwater station due to its low profit margins, the STCC have heaped praise upon the crews of the Cornea station itself and of the surrounding buildings and factories who have all responded bravely and professionally to the emergency. The STCC have also praised the swift response of pilot defence teams that rallied to the stricken sectors aid.

Each of these assaults against the Cornea sector has occurred following sporadic sightings of C0 Jellyfish throughout known space. Shortly after these sightings were reported, Conflux infestations were seen to have formed in the sectors linking trade routes to Cornea, effectively isolating the station for brief periods of time. It is believed that the anomaly within the Outer Depths sector has been the point of entry for the Sentients for each of the incursions, a deduction made from the direction of their attack, its at the time un-tuned status and the patterns of the infestations that have so far always left the Jumpgate between the two sectors clear during an strike
TRI-HQ (TRI-FP) - The second race in the Artisto Cup series, The Samsung Universal 420, was held on 110.08.08 at 15:00 Ekoos Time. For this event, the racers started at Hyperial Station with an empty hold and no mission. Pilots then proceed to Main Gate where they docked at the Ore Depot to retrieve an ore delivery mission to Quantar Depot. Docking in Quantar Depot was the finish line.

There was a bit of conflict after the race when one of the contestants was irate over being jostled and bumped in the loading tube of the Main Gate Ore Depot, but a wisened-old TRI veteran was overheard telling him, "No, no, he didn't slam you, he didn't bump you, he didn't nudge you . . . he *rubbed* you. And rubbin, son, is racin'."

Race Organizer, CaptainCow said, "Moooo!" . . . which means: "This was a hotly contested race - there was much more jostling for ore in the depot than the last go round 4 years ago and it appeared to have a material effect on the outcome of the race. Another issue looming over race 2 was the Ta'hir's resolve to deny access to Quantar Depot for Military Tagged pilots from other factions. Due to war status it was felt the security risk was too high. This resulted in a record number of DNFs for pilots that never podded during an event. Therefore I'd like to remind pilots to plan ahead for the next few races and ensure they are Civilian Tagged by race day or else they will not even be able to start the race. With the next event in Solrain space, hopefully we will see more than a token turn out for the home faction that we've seen the last couple races!"

The winners of the Heavy Miner event were: Moody for Octavius; Painter for Solrain and VB_Kesha for Quantar. The winners of the Transport Class were: Rainman for Octavius; NOTORIOUS for Solrain; and Regan for Quantar. Each factional winner will be awarded the Ronin's Choice award, plus ten Deepol capacitors, courtesy of Samsun Universal; all other r
Quantar Core (TRI-FP) - Two days ago and for the second time in nearly as many weeks, the Duelist Custom Producer in Omni IV was rocked by internal explosions. None of the maintenance staff present at the facility were injured during the crippling incident but hundreds of droids and servos were either damaged or destroyed, temporarily disabling the facility.
TRI-HQ (TRI-FP) - The latest Aristio Cup races kicked off on 110.7.25 with the first in what will be a series of at least five parts, with the initial race being the "Amananth 444" - a three-lap course through The Gyre, Aman Hook, Last Parsec, Sea of Shadows and The Split - starting and finishing in Aman Station. Nine pilots participated in the Heavy-Miner-Class event, and eight in the Transport-Class event. This was a straight-out "speed" race where the winner was the first to finish the course and dock, but an additional 20 race point could be earned by going through the Last Parsec beacon.

"We are so pleased that CaptainCow has decided to run another Aristio Cup series!" said Echo Tetsab, Director of TRI-RMD. "And we also want to thank the Series Sponsor, Aristio Conglomerated. Hopefully we'll see more and more actual race participants as the series progresses."

When asked for comment, Race Organizer CaptainCow said, "MOO!" . . . which, according to our translator, means: "The pilot population seemed to be really excited about this year's Aristio Cup. There were lots of spectators to cheer on the racers and help ensure their safety from any Conflux that may have shown up to spoil the party. With the Amananth 444 successfully complete we must now turn our attention to the next race that will require much more preparatory work!"

When asked if, in retrospect, he would have changed anything about this race, CaptainCow mooed, "Yeah, having an official in more than two places would have helped keep track of laps. I believe it was a simultaneous jump that I missed Moody one lap, and I jumped out of my lap counting sector [because] too many non-participants [were] dropping flux."

The winners of the Heavy Miner event were: Algore and Moody for Octavius; Jargo for Solrain and Nessos for Quantar. Moody was awarded a "win" because of a judging problem that cost him significant time. The winners of the Transport Class were: Rainman for Octavius; NOTORIOUS for Solrain; and Tesrend for Quantar. The points accumulated for winning and beacon-tuning will go towards determining overall series winners for the Aristio Cup.

Each factional winner was awarded the Ronin's Choice award, plus five Intimidator power plants.

All other participants received the Keval's Thanks medal. CaptainCow received the
What is Topic Of The Week?
Topic of the Week is a contest that select posts on which we would like the community to commit to as a group and then comment/discuss on them during the course of the selected week. Any listed topic (thread) is eligible for the Topic of the Week selection.

What determines a Topic Of The Week?
Topic Of The Week is based on a simple nomination system. Throughout the selected forums, members with adequate permissions can nominate their favorite topic by clicking on the award nomination button below the post.

The topics with the most nominations during the course of the week are displayed on this thread using the poll feature. At the end of the week, the first three topics with the most nominations are the award winners of the contest.
