Re: 30 second log out?
I beleive if you are teleported back there is some repercussion is there not, like a failed mission?
Perhaps add more repercussions like your ship blew up and now you have to re-equip. The current system also leaves the ship in space for that time frame, so if you are a PvPer and you try to /q, There is still the potential that the people looking for you will find you moving at a very slow speed and come kill you. |

Re: 30 second log out?
The vast majority of MMO games employ a 30 second delay before you actualy exit the game. If at any time you are attacked durring the 30 seconds your log out is aborted. If you go link dead for any reason your character stays in game for 30 seconds. If you are attacked the attacker gets to pound you for the remainder of the 30 seconds.
If you get killed you log back in dead and whatever happens when you die is what happens when you log in. If you safely logged out then you enter the game in the same place you logged out. You do want to be careful where you log out, many games will put your character in game before the interface draws and your ready to take control. You may be attacked as your logging in and you cant do diddly. Most games wave the 30 seconds or offer a logout now option if you are in an area where there is no chance you can be attacked. I hope this clarifies things. |

Re: 30 second log out?
What I am more interested in than 30 sec vs 5 min timer is whether or not your ship is teleported to the last station you docked at if you don't log back in. If not...multiple people could 1 by 1 sneak into sol core and then log out in 1 account, then run off and play another account, then on sunday at 3:00 pm all 40 of them log back in and lay waste to SC.
On the other hand, people deepspacing and /q to teleport back to their station where they launch and re-engage you fresh because you had been chasing them is super lame. |
