Re: Asshattery in Jumpgate Evolution
@Eraser: I forgot what I was going to say lol. Damn. Ah yes, I remember... I remember the first time I hit the missile button by accident. A not so happy HighOctane (from BlackCompany) promised to kill me, so I had to hide in hyperial for some time LOL, untill by mistake he found me... and he killed me.
Then, with time, Black Company killed DJMTPocket.... and they got hell for it, and I felt happy that my 'revenge' of sorts came. We made good friends there too, it was quite an experience. To me, seing Misku in unreg... it was always an adrenaline rush.. running away to try and stay alive.. but never could, I never quit either. I could have quit when THE BORG were based at Inner Storm at the beginning of SR, but nope, found a way to coexist and we had quite a ride. I could have quit when Raummorder attacked me so many times (or our squad) but our fights led grew to a sense of respect for each other. I could have quit when DragonIce attacked one of my pilots in Quant space, but no, we decided to get mano y mano, shoot first and we killed him (I was scared of Liet a lot, but I wouldnt quit either). And when G.Rasputin came along with the Hobo Camps (with Tampax and some others, I mean TAFKAP) I could have quit when he killed me in my tug full of squad equipment in unreg with no insurance..... but I didnt, not even one of us did. And we could have quit when we fought Disposable, he made some impressive remarks about his stats and all, (they were impressive I give you that), but we didnt back out. We had quite many fights in which he showed his great fighting skills, but the carebears in SR changed ships and showed guns in hand to defend each other and kill the menacing 'bastard'. In the end, we enjoyed fighting alongside in WOW4, even when DireCoyote couldnt... we did. All experiences... good ones. As Trit said, experiences that make strong bonds between teammates, and it was always hard to log when some of these threats were online... but it was always quite enjoyable even dying to them while fighting for what we believed. Safe zones? only to protect the new guys. Once you hit a certain level, protection should be made via AI patrols, AI station turrets or player patrols. In OEC we did quite a lot of that and it was always a thing that as Ike said many folks noted and wanted to be a part of. ELP |

Re: Asshattery in Jumpgate Evolution
Bully for you Elp, but the concern isnt those that stayed but those that left after having asshattery thrust upon them. Or even just bored of the asshatterers and to be honest most of what you just said isnt asshattery.
They already have a game that people like us will stay even after being infected with asshattery but it only has 20-30 online peak and thats the whole point. |

OV was a really good squad in the beginning and in the middle of my Jumpgate carrer and i had a lots of repect left for their pilots , cause we had some fair and clean HG fights with somewhat of RP in the Backgroud .. then came the point (and i just was waiting for it at this time) when 2 OV pilots(i assume it was wyx and Al (correct and slap me if i am wrong with this AL ) )ripped my full loaded Cobalt tow after launching from OP.Witch totally escalted the situation and made me to deliver some pay back packages . from my point of view it was the turning point of OV. But balancing the positive and negative effects OV had, they are still positive. I wasnt able to track players actions after i left Jumpgate for some personal RL reason. So i might doesnt have a full picture of that.![]() |

I don't recall the incident you refer to, but you probably deserved it. I tend to find through experience that acts of asshattery tended to be carried out by kids. Those kids are now in their late teens or early 20's and are still blinded by their previous actions. Growing up generally helps people look outside the box, some unfortuantely never change. Re: Asshattery in Jumpgate Evolution
Exactly. People deserve getting civved for doing stupid shit. It is unfortunate that safe zones will prevent that on some servers, but fortunately there will be other servers to allow proper retribution.

Re: Asshattery in Jumpgate Evolution
Well, that is a good point: I do not know that it will not be possible. However, I think the devs have made it pretty clear that there will be servers without non-consensual pvp; I interpret that as civving will not be possible on those servers.
Do you not agree? |

Re: Asshattery in Jumpgate Evolution
Its hard to accept for the pvp-crowd that most of the players in Jumpgate were so called "carebears". It looks like ND has anticipated that.
king0815 P.s.: You can replace the term "carebears" with traders, miners etc |
