Um, it's in my post on the GDC.

It means you will not point your ship at a rock and go do laundry. You will see the veins of different ore and go mine it out. Sounds pretty damn cool to me.

I think a lot of this depends on implementation. How are you going to detect the vein? Will there be a special xray specs modx that you have to equip, or does your mining laser give you a realtime spectral analysis that you have to interpret as you sweep the laser over the asteroid?

No you can see them. So you will have to look at all sides of roids to find veins.

I like how this new type of mining sounds. It seems like you have to take an active part in the procedure and if they make the more exotic mineral harder to get to, or even have you search for it like inside roids, makes all the more interesting imo.
