Post Server switch (10/11/2007) Istvan was answering Jumpgate Evolution questions while babysitting the newborn server. Here is the answers I got to my questions.

1) Goose: What ships classes are the Oct and Quant ships Joystickrequired as concept art for?
Istvan: The Oct ship is a light fighter and the Quant ship is a Transport.

2) Goose: Will any of the old Jumpgate Classic ships be in Jumpgate Evolution with updated models?
Istvan: Jumpgate Evolution has all new ship models. There will be multiple ships for each class for each faction. Development team is looking to see if cross faction ships can be implemented.
[Comment: I would have liked to see a Typhoon mk II. Still having more fighter options then Jumpgate Classic Qct:NIX, Quant:PHOON, and Sol:TENSY should be good for balancing.]

3) Goose: Will lateral thruster control be in Jumpgate Evolution?
Istvan: Have thruster control in pre-alpha build. Both vertical and lateral.
[Comment: Woot. I wanted this for a long time.]

4) Goose: Will velocity squared drag be in Jumpgate Evolution?

Istvan: Goose, the JGE Flight model is the same as JGCs. Just some control interface parts are changing. Note that ship drag numbers aren't the flight engine, but part of the ship, though.

[Comment: This is good since I just worked out the Jumpgate Classic equations of motion. I can calculate how fast I can get a loaded TOW going before flipping to do a brake burn.]
