Re: The difference between WoW and Jumpgate
In answer to that, I spent months getting a Ab4, then I locked up in a storm glitch and lost it. The GM's at the time refused to fix it. So no manor or safe zones of bumper cars is going to fix that. So yes, I know what it's like to work long and hard to get something only to lose it.
Losing stuff is part of the life of a space adventurer. |

![]() All in all, it'll boil down to how well ND does with a new take on Jumpgate. Guaranteed it'll piss off heaps of the old vets no matter what they do. But, in the end, ND's on the brink and if Jumpgate Evolution and Lego MMO don't turn some decent coin, I can't even begin to understand how they'll remain in business looking at how many tanks they've had the misfortune of. Jumpgate Evolution while exciting for me being that I loved Jumpgate Classic, I also know they're out to make a profit and right now, games like WoW are king. While I don't agree with where games are going as of late, especially the MMO, I can't argue that the "Mindless Grind" is king of profit in the long run. Thats what the majority of MMO players seem to thirst for and if ND doesn't do something to attract at least a good share of that crowd, Jumpgate Evolution will just be another Jumpgate Classic after the Betas and the Demos have lost their allure. 100 pilots all sitting in stations talking about the good old days and wishing things had turned out different. And I, while loving all of you, can't imagine shelling out $ on a monthly basis for another glorified 3D chat engine. Hard part is for most of us, Jumpgate Evolution won't be Jumpgate Classic. It can't be, ND can't afford another flop like AutoAssault and arguably, Jumpgate Classic was. It'll have Jumpgate Classic in there and hopefully prominently, but I guarantee, the same flame-wars that Jumpgate Classic was brought into the world under will happen again, with the "Goodbye" posts and the "Nerf" posts lighting up the skies like the Fourth of July. All we can do is just be happy ND didn't go under before making a sequel to Jumpgate right now ![]() If they make a cool profit off of it, then I'll start hoping they'll fine tune some things for us old timers. If not, I'll give the new wheels a spin and see if I can learn to love her however she turns out. |

Re: The difference between WoW and Jumpgate
You seem to be operating under the impression that I was joking. I wasn't.
You've done nothing but complain on the ND boards, which I wouldn't necessarily have a problem with if those complaints were based on facts, but they're not. So while I respect what you're trying to do, I can't help but think that you're coming off as the boy that cried wolf. Which naturally begs the question, what're you going to do when we as a community have something legit to complain about (i.e. when people start testing in beta and we find out for certain what the "PvE content in unreg" will be, or what kind of "loot" will be available, and so on)? Because if you keep this up, by the time that eventuality arises, you won't have any credibility left. people will see your posts and say "Oh look, GrimGriz is complaining again, just ignore him". |
