haha Mis. I wrote before i read the whole thread.

If we weren't *IC* in the boards, my board name would be "CONRAD ORGANS" and my pilot name would be "JACK OFTEN".

Re: Diplomacy - No civripping for 6 months

I can certainly see Liet's , Rebound's, and Grim's point of view. Let me be PERFECTLY clear in my sentiment regarding this thread: Protect the new playerbase.... Preserve the new playerbase.... RETAIN the new playerbase...

Yes it is QUITE clear we will have asshats.... For those we police them as appropriate... However like IJ said, some small things like an accidential strip or tow bump... I am asking for a pledge of restraint... That definitely applies to yours truly as well...

And this is why I asked for a time period so that the majority who are not asshats can enjoy our game and importantly our community.

I know this sounds COMPLETELY carebearish but I am thinking about our future. Believe me I like to shoot the next guy within reason, but a simple pledge of restraint (I aint saying not to shoot them, just kinda be a bit more patient) is all I was hoping for.

As for me.. you know me ... Bring your warhat!

i doubt much civving will be going on while everyone is trying to level... although the first ship I ever pirated was a level 7 Oct when I was a level 9 Sol in beta. =)

But anyway, six months is a long time. How about six days?

Signing something is weird too, if we can have 4 accounts on the same server.... what makes you think an asshater will sign his asshater account in the proposal? Or if I only use 1 account but instead I call me PapaJoe?

The best thing you can do is to start a proposal so that factional squads, (we know they will be there) protect the noobs no matter what. The squad leaders are well known and true to their word, so, some factional squad signing in the document/proposal has more weight than an invididual signing.

As somebody said, 6 months is too long unless done the way I suggested, at a squad level. Those that agree on protecting their noobs would go long ways (also) to avoid killing noobs in enemy space, though, Id think a good lesson might be to inflict damage on the noob ship if he's done something wrong, so that he learns the in/outs of good wellbehaviour.

Ok Tritian... maybe 6 months is a bit long ... lets say 3 months? I am kinda fishing for a better proposal than the one I thought of.

I'm with liet here, at the start I will most likely be a faction defender and helping nubs level, but as time progresses I plan on trying out the bad guy again at least for a little while.

But I'm an equal opportunity pirate, so just about anyone can be a target. There were many times I pirated a person I helped level, and I never feel bad about it.

If you can't tell the difference between a forum and a game with PvP, then you need to play more Jumpgate

In all reality many of people were put on KOS due to their actions on the forum, but that is a lot more rare than a player being made KOS from their in game actions.

Awen, there is one GREAT difference. On most forums, I can put a poster on "ignore", just like on F5:Chat. If they are right there with their guns blazing, missiles firing and my shields going down, it's damned difficult to ignore.

TStrike, since I only managed one civrip in 6 years of playing, I'll "sign" your "no civrip" diplomacy forms without worry.

Re: Diplomacy - No civripping for 6 months

I have civ ripped..... have I? hummm, Khorne wasnt civ.... far as I remember, DragonIce wasnt civ.... Kiadevil? probably, I remember being able to kill him but Im not sure if we were both civs at the time (and I had a good reason to do it too).

I could sign the petition but I wont. I stand by my reply, squads signing the petition have more worth than simple individuals... unless the individuals are famous for ripping civs.
