Re: Diplomacy - No civripping for 6 months

I'm with net and Liet and I guess many of the other "more hostile people here".
I have never liked civ'ing and have such have very little civ kills.
The start of retail will be a time to assert yourself, and your squad. That being said if someone steps out of line I will not hesitate to do what I need to within the game mechanics to put someone in their place. No doubt others will do the same to me.
Is there even going to be such a thing as "civ ripping" in Jumpgate Evolution? I haven't read that anywhere yet...............
Rest assured like in any game I play I will always take into consideration other people, and their approach. Sometimes to my detriment, but I will still f**k them over to the best of ability if required.

Regards
Al

Tritian, can't even remember the pilots name off-hand, but I'll see if I can find it. Whoever it was, was a Quant with a high enough level to have a tow and was stripping FM materials from Quant Core. I remember asking him nicely, then not so nicely, not to do it and finally shot him down. I'm pretty sure I was in my Vulture HM when I did it. I had no trouble working my bounty off though.

Okay, found it. March 2nd, 2005. Gogo was the pilot. It was the Hype FM and I shot him down in Hype Statoin Sector (see the fallacy of memory?) and it appears from my notes I was flying a Dragon. I worked off the final part of the bounty by March 6th and Nocturnu lit up my shields in celebration in TriPoint station sector. I acted in violation of OAS ROE but my commander at the time (FireStorm) gave me a pass on it. I tried to look up both pilots but (no surprise) they are TRI-C. Now if Awen or someone else were to open up those classified files...(hint hint hint)..

Liet, I only wish I could contact him or Chubain. Chip is back in town and would like to re-activate OAS (as in add new pilots). Mule was around earlier, but I've only seen him the once. I haven't seen Firestorm in months and I don't think I've seen Chubain this year. I never was an officer in OAS and have no desire to be one, so I can't help there at all.

If any of you have a way of contacting either Firestorm (TRI-C) or Chubain, please have them contact me by PM either here or on JOSSH. Thanks.

If I'm not mistaken, Chubain popped his head into the jossh forums not too long back.

Re: Diplomacy - No civripping for 6 months

I've civripped a few times, no accidents, and they deserved it. When I tell them to give money or get shot down...and they don't pay...well, boom.

That was in Dark Path though...in [DEATH] we mainly just shot people to shoot people.

As far as random civrips, I haven't...but I've been attacked for no reason many times.

Do I care? No, not even when the game was new. I already understood before I ever logged in that first time that there might be people out there that would attack if the opportunity came along. I accepted that cause I wasn't a tard.

They got theirs in the end.

Re: Diplomacy - No civripping for 6 months

Liet and Tritian made me a bad person. Otherwise I probably would have never civ ripped anyone.

However, IMO, hardening someone's skin from day one might preserve the player base long term. If you've never been civ ripped in 2 years of playing and some ass hat gets you, you're gonna be pissed. If you were civ ripped at lvl 10 in your first week, when it happens again at 15, 25, and 35, you probably won't think much of it.

LOL, right on. It continues to amaze me how our small community/fanbase dramatically overestimates its importance.

ROFL, Gogo was an old Mule account I would activate from time to time -- usually so I could fly in WOWs without having to mess squad things up. I remember the Hyp thing.

I hope you were not feeling bad about the Gogo civ rip -- the whole reason I did what I did was to add spice to the Hyp FM. I fully expected to be civved -- hell I even /homed out of KH so people should shoot me there in unreg if they wanted. It also nullified the insurance protection.
