yeah, it's hard to see it unless you actually pause to look at it closely. Circling the station takes on a whole new meaning now.

Yeah... that's fairly impressive. I like the idea of actually seeing a city in there somewhere

Re: Docking Rings in Jumpgate Evolution

Yeah the smallish stations didnt make sense in the fact that these were decent sized colonies of people living in space. At least SC was decent sized, but still unimpressive as far as construction goes.

Re: Docking Rings in Jumpgate Evolution

Just saw SingleShot's post of the comparison pic. I think his effort successfully does a pretty good job of matching the actual size difference between the new Sol Core station model and the old Wake model. Thanks, SingleShot. Pics are indeed worth a thousand words. Man, I really cannot wait to get you guys some video footage.

I see this stuff every day and still wonder now and again if I ought to get myself some Depends(tm). The art team just keeps doing a freaking great job.

You said it bro, you want another thousand words, give us another pic to drool over

If the art team isn't ready to release one just yet, smack em and tell em to get to work so the forum trolls will leave you alone

And video, yeah..... I think you know how much a video is going to light us all up. Perhaps you could take a fraps of your demo in australia?

Re: Docking Rings in Jumpgate Evolution

All I know is I never cared for docking in Jumpgate Classic and it looks like they are fixing it in Jumpgate Evolution with the massive docking port sizes etc. Please make it autoland for me once I get inside. The art of landing is lost on a space sim IMO.

Re: Docking Rings in Jumpgate Evolution

dont forget you will have vector thrust now, docking might be easier now.

But yea, I could see why some would want auto dock once inside, and thats probably what they have

Re: Docking Rings in Jumpgate Evolution

I sure hope not. I want to pilot my ship which is why I played Jumpgate in the first place. Auto dock, auto aim, what's next auto flight? What's the point then?

You're exaggerating now. We already have Autodock... do you fly your ship into its actual hanger in Jumpgate Classic? No. Is it THAT inconceivable that in an era where we can travel faster than light that our computers can put us in the right hanger on it's own? C'mon.
