Re: Docking Rings in Jumpgate Evolution
If you see the pic that appeared on the DSD... the sol docking 'tube' you can see the 'new rings'. They arent like the old rings, but you can see them easily, is 2 lines comprised of blue dots of light. You'll have to look close because there are many light sources in that shot.

Re: Docking Rings in Jumpgate Evolution
Anvil, they won't need pilots at all in a real future. Many modern planes fly themselves. (Autopilot - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)
This is a game, based on pilot skill. If I wanted the computer to play for me, I could install a screen-saver. In Jumpgate Classic, I can choose to use the autodock, and it might take 2 minutes to actually dock. Or I can dock myself, combat-tagged, under fire, in a loaded tow, in enemy territory, after deliberately annoying 20 people.... and I can do it very fast. One of those is fun, and the other is not. Speed-docking was one of the best bits of Jumpgate. It took practice, timing and skill. |

Re: Docking Rings in Jumpgate Evolution
That's too uber! I think you should have to at least manually press the win button.
So JB's post brings us back to what this thread was about. Docking will take longer now. Or should I say, there will no longer be a great difference in the time that it takes each player to dock since everyone will have to fly through a part of the station to dock now. |
