So, of those of you that stretched beyond your initial faction choice, what was your favorite one to play and why?



I had sol and quant chars...but I think I preferred sol. Maybe because thats where I started and was most familiar with, but I just like the area better. That, and sols always rocked. Who can forget the giant MACK convoys?! good times.

Jumpgate Classic didn't rely let you try out the other factions unless you opened multiple accounts or was willing to destroy all that you earned.

Sol -=MACK=- is where I started and its where it ends. I would have liked to have tryed other play styles but thats not the way the game was made.

Sounds like Jumpgate Evolution will have allot more replay value.

So I guess im excluded from voting so will not click, but for what its worth I prefer sol space as its not too stretched out like Quant Space and is easier on the eye than dark red Oct space. I think I would have said this even if I had not started as Sol.

The question is too broad.

I loved Oct from the beginning because of the massive amount of RP being thrown around between a few of the major squads trying to exert their superiority over the others. Also, the oct players were the most hard headed willing to continue launching into gank fleets over and over and over, even after equipment had been used up and all that was left was crap.

Then I did sol, and I must say, their ships are all around better. Sure the tense doesn't have as much fire power, but its ability to run and evade just made it a uber-PvP ship when used right and even better when you had at least 1 good wingmate. 2 Tense could take on anything and survive.

Last but not least I did quant, and I have to say the people I met, the PvPers, the miners, the haulers, the instigators, and the cannon fodder were all top notch people. A great love of communicating with others, having a great time, making a lot of money, and repelling constant attacks from both of the other factions. The way that they were able to get information out, organize, and work together even in overwhelming odds was just awesome. Of coarse a lot of that had to do to Tesrend, but of coarse one man can't do it all, and he was great at spreading out the responsibility.


So I guess I need a Pie option as I can't vote for any of those options.

Well, JumpDemon was in fact a Hyperion that lied on his application to the Solrain Empire so that he could leave the confines of Hyperial. It is unfortunate that he had to do this and it is unfortunate that he still must do this in this poll.

Well, I considered a PIE-Rate (haha get it) option, but i wanted accurate results, unwavered by the tempting pie.

Guess I was too fast at voting and not reading lol, Im OCT all the way, though, if a non-aligned option were to exist... Im not sure what path I would go.

Sol.

Oct ships are the least skill dependant ones. I can kill bigger flux in the level 1 oct ship than I can in a level 9 sol/quant and in oct ships even I can pvp and that is just not right.

Quant ships are just crap though, although fun to fly... just not against anything other than the flying itself.


So I'll stick with sol, if only because of the size 3 shield, the tensy and my mortar truder.

My guess is that sols will win this poll hands down.

Just don't expect to see them in space if the oct tanks are in flight. Its not that sols don't like the challenge - its just sols are intelligent enough to know when the ship stats are stacked/rigged and fixed.
