Welllll I'm a girl and believe it or not I've had a really good time playing the last few weeks. Something that most people don't realize is that if you have solid game mechanics with a hefty social interaction aspect, girls will play.

Now, I'm not the typical female gamer (I like getting all violent with my videogames) but I think that since the brunt of women either play MMO games or Casual games (we're talking at places like Pogo) chances are if we have one of those two specified above, we'll have quite a few of them for you to choose from Net.

In my experience, the female sect of the species tend to prefer more refined games. From this thread alone, it's clear that Jumpgate is far from refined.

my three girls (aged 18 to 22) are much more interested in IMVU and sims, or their equivalents, than they are in FPS stuff.

I am, of course, painting with a big 'ol brush here, and there are exceptions. Course, girls who are _paid_ to play hardly qualify as exceptions :P
