Come on Eraser, you very rarely play/played and you had no real squad to speak of on the US server, even before MT.

As long as they improve the econ side of the game and make it so I can fight other signed up PvPers and shoot numpties in unreg Ill be more than happy.

well just after the EU server went down I was away in military for a year, so I didnt play, when I came back I subscribed and saw what MT patch did to the game.. You may like it.. but ur a strictly "honorable" pilot.. I like to feel the danger of being shot by even my own faction. witch you guys did alot before I wouldnt signed up for oct factionalist squad if they banned PVP for everyone who wasnt faithful to their faction.. oh they almoust did.. lol

They didn't though. Netdevil originally (pre-Istvan) went by the level = better model. They only had LFs and Fighters in the beginning, but when they came out with medium fighters they were better than the LFs and worse than the fighters.

Istvan is the one who balanced ALL the fighter ships...(the noncombat ships needed work still), and Istvan isn't running the show for Jumpgate Evolution. Scorch admitted...here I can't help but wonder at what level do they stop getting better? At what level are they balanced so that it's just your preferred weapon type? At what level can I pvp with people who have more time to play than I do?

Further, we know there is going to be crafting this time around, and loot. Generally, loot randomly includes rare drops. If they make these rare drops contain components that can be used to make better than regular weapons/shields, then you'll have to grind killing the mobs that drop there rare stuff until you get enough stuff to make a weapon you can compete with.

Lastly, I've been waiting for someone to sink some development into Jumpgate or a remarkably similar project for about 5 years now...so of course I'm paranoid they're going to screw it up...because if I do there's no telling how long I'll have to wait before someone tries to get it right again.

I guess I'll probably keep voicing this concern until they say what level they're going to make the balancing point. I sure hope it's not 70....

p.s. Scorch's second part about the missions was completely relieving. I'm actually very excited about it, it sounds like they're trying to make players actions influence the game universe...which will help make the players the story instead of having the players follow a story.

That's because you are a myopic forum troll, and every single one of your posts are design to start sh!t.

Lets look at your latest troll.

No it's not juvenile. We are voicing our concerns so that they might get addressed. That is the point of these forums, and why ND is actively listening to our ideas.

To me it seems to be more of a case of people wanting to complain rather than having a real reason to. If people wanted Jumpgate to stay the same, they should have damn well been playing it. Its all very well being nostalgic but some of us committed players want a complete game that matches more modern games as they are now, with 1,000s of players not just 10s, and if that means I have to compromise then so be it.
As Eraser55 pointed out, this is complete BS. There are many reasons why people stopped playing Jumpgate Classic. To say that people shouldn't help Jumpgate Evolution because they dont currently playe Jumpgate Classic is the height of elitism and ignorance.

That's because your purpose is to troll, not to provide anything constructive or even relevant to the conversation. You admit it yourself... you post this verbal diarrhea with the sole intent to start sh!t. You say what you know will set people off. You offer no advice or ideas towards Jumpgate Evolution and even insult people who do.

You are jackass without equal, and I would of removed your posting privileges ages ago.

Re: Herman Interview on IGN

Its hurting to read it. I have this feeling I'll keep playing Jumpgate Classic for a long time, sad, but perhaps true, we are a minority and they of course arent interested in the minorities.

Its depressing...

I suspect Evolution will have something like regulated and unregulated sectors, regulated being "safe" in the sense that PvP is consensual, and unregulated being open PvP in some form.
Disgusting. I stopped reading after this.

Oh well.

Why the soul of Jumpgate won't be in Jumpgate Evolution

Quote:
Hermann Peterscheck: If I'm not going to get better stuff or a cool new ship or see some awesome new opponent, then I have to ask what I'm playing for.
Because you have FUN playing. That's why we stuck with Jumpgate as long as we did. There wasn't new flux, and there wasn't better stuff, and we ALL would have kept playing it if you had more than 1 guy working on it. In the end, players ARE the best content, and if you separate them by level and gear, the game will suffer for it.

Quote:
However, it's important people who play primarily PvP or PvE are rewarded for their efforts such that the "real" game isn't either one. This is a difficult thing to achieve, but I think it's important to acknowledge that different people play the game differently and satisfying those styles is important.
We don't PvP for rewards, we PvP for the joy of watching the other bastard explode.

Quote:
Most people play MMOs as a solo experience, or with a few close friends. They don't want to be killed and harassed every five minutes,
Most MMOs are single player games in disguise.

*continues to hope that one day someone will "get" it, or give Istvan the resources he needs, because he DOES get it.*
