How does that work exactly with multiple characters on a single account? You can only play one character at a time... am I missing something?

There are easy ways to transfer money even if you can't both login at the same time. There's no question, having multi accounts is very cool, but very open to explotation by serious lamers. Shame.

We call it bankrolling in other games. In fact most games have a system in place on purpose to allow you to transfer credits between characters. In the grand scheme of things it really doesn't cause problems that I see. You still can only generate credits while your playing and you can only play one character at a time.

Personally, I want a hauler to make me lots of cash and bankroll my PvPer. I don't see any problem with that TBH.

Re: How Much $$$$

Ok, replace "PvPer" with "a$$hat account that likes to strip stations" or "Account that likes to kill complete n00bs cause he can"

So now instead of the "kamer" having to pay for a 2nd account to support his server wide hated first, he can just log into a 2nd account using the same subscription.

Granted, the root of the problem is the person being a d!ck, but making it easier is not a good thing....especially if you think thats justification to charge us all more per month.

Awesome. I knew adopting a child through the Christian Children's Fund would some day work to my advantage.

Scorch, I can transfer little Uzbekka to your labor camp immediately. My card says her interests are "Food and Shelter". Best of all, it only takes $0.25 a day to keep her in working condition.

Ah! i gotcha now net.

Well hopefully enough game mechanics will be put in place to prevent anyone from being a total noob killing @$$hat (not the same as a pirate) thus circumventing the issue all-together.

Re: How Much $$$$

Child per play eh? Hmmmmm. Well, my child is 21 and she has her own child, yet she still considers that she is the child and I the adult. So do I therefore get a bonus in that I have one child who has another and the first child actually takes care of, and feeds, the second child? Say a years free play for the 2 of 'em??

well it depends. if you add a free trial without requiring a credit card, then it might be worth $15 a month.

The thing is. What will it take to bring more people playing the game. Sure, having the ability to create 2 or more characters on one account, will be easier for lamers to abuse. But if you dont have it, will it have a greater negative inpact on subscribers then a few lamers can achive with their actions?

Like if 2 or more characters per account are going to bring 1000 more players and 10 more lamers at the same time, then I think its worth it.

No matter what, there are always going to be people acting lame in games with big playerbases. And there are always going to be those who define laming as something that it is not. Who think that every action that has a negative impact on them is either lame or griefing. But the best way to counter this type of play is to make the general gameplay very good.

While I have to admit bankrolling one character from another in Jumpgate Classic, I believe, ideally, in character separation. There have been problems in Jumpgate Classic where people have been ripped in the "alts" because of grudges held against their primary accounts. I think that sucks big time. But if that "alt" is bankrolling the primary, it's hard get get on a very high soap box about it.

I'll bet that's the rub, right there.

Just about everybody thinks 'alts' should be separate, and yet nearly everybody uses an alt (or takes advantage of somebody elses alt) to bankroll their 'real' character.

As a community, we have become so clearly two-faced on this issue that ND has probably just said 'sod off.. everybody is on equal footing now, bankroll away and stop pretending'.

And they are right.
