Hopefully it only gets BETTER. I just got the TrackIR to review in DsD and it has great potential but with the current Jumpgate Classic setup it's more a neat gimmick than a way to create very cool game immersion experience.

Re: Into the Precipice I go!

ND_Striker, thank you for your response. I tend to forget that everyone is not on JSR every day of the week or at all hours. When I worked I put in my 40+ hours and went home. I should not expect more than that from any one.

I can live with "I don't know" but I'd appreciate anything solid about the game you, or any other dev, can share with us. All this talk of AI has me very curious as to the "new" flux but the questions I raised about flux "radar" are very serious ones to me as they appear to be totally without logic or reason and have annoyed the heck out of me for a very long time now.

But Bill, don't you want to be able to follow flux to someone who tried to deepspace to get away from you?

My mother always told me that two wrongs don't make a right. Just cos someone is lame and runs from a fight, doesn't mean you should be lame and use a poorly coded flux to find them.

Re: Into the Precipice I go!

Clyde does it all the time :P and even if he didnt, he's also lame on attacking folks who dont have his same PvP skills. What is weird is when a lame pilot complains about other's lame actions (if indeed they are truly lame).

Ok sorry it's been a bit since I answered questions last. I've been busier than a one legged man in a butt kicking contest and while I want to give you answers, sometimes it just isn't possible to squeeze in the time between work and sleep.

1. We're working on this stuff so I don't have the answer for you yet.

2. I believe that it's the plan to have it expandable.

3. It's all subject to your opinion. To each his own I say. I can tell you that they will all be very integral and combative.

With the addition of a split between non-PvP (regulated) and PvP (unregulated) space, will the unregulated space be ALL high level flux like it is currently? Or will Unregulated have an area for "noobie" PvP players who want to be in danger but don't want to deal with C11 and 12's in a noob ship?

If the space is indeed split, I would like to see an area where PvP players can level up without having to go regulated is why I mention this.
This is still in the works stage so until we have a definite answer on that I can't say.

I do want to say though that we're doing everything we can to ensure that people have fun playing. We're not going to make a game that is boring and doesn't make sense.

Most of the stuff we've released so far is in game screenshots. Link me and I'll tell you for sure.

I don’t know just feels like it wont have the same feel of Jumpgate I know it’s a new game, but that feeling you have when you undock and you don’t know what’s waiting for you in the next sector.

With the knowledge that you are on a PVP or PVE server just feels the game play will become sterile and pre determined far too quickly the one thing about Jumpgate is its different every time you log in.

Why because it’s a big melting pot of PVP and PVE.
We'll still have PVP on PVE servers. It's not all carebear in this universe. Jumpgate is based on a combative universe and we're not going to downplay that. You're going to come out of the dock and go right into adrenaline. Ok so that's my own experience but I'm hoping that you feel that way too.

I just don't like the term of 'end game' because the game isn't over. I'm not an idiot, I know that 'end game' doesn't mean 'one day you will log in to a blank screen with a smiley face saying 'you've hit the end of the game. good bye'. It was simply an offhanded comment on how the term doesn't really fit the content in an MMO that is continually worked on. It's not like I don't understand when people use the term 'end game' in a post, and I don't call them out on it and try to start a discussion on their choice of words, I just don't feel that the term is descriptive of what you're trying to say. If I talked to someone who doesn't play MMO's and used that term, they would most likely think I mean the END of the game, not the real meaning.

Of course, I don't really understand what that was a bone of contention for you....and I don't think I was making it into a big deal, I made a sentence fragment that offhandedly mentioned it...and even ended with "and I digress"....boy, how much more do I have to do to show that I'm not gung-ho thinking something must be done?
I don't like the term end game either. 1. it seems like you never reach that coveted existence and 2. I like the term high level content better.

From here on out, I'll try to use that instead. It would make me happier for sure.

i got a quesion for you Striker, ( or any other Dev that's played Evolution ). for you, which way is easier to fly a ship, using the mouse/keyboard combo or a joystick?
I'm not great with a joystick yet, simply because I haven't had the opp to use one as much. I find that using the keyboard mouse is pretty easy for me. However, I'm going to try a joystick during the next playfest.

Thanks Jump! We are super busy and I know that I haven't been on for a bit but rest assured guys that not only am I reading these boards but the rest of the team does as well.

When I was a part of the media, I didn't understand how much work is really involved in getting a game out the door. Even my job which is communicating with the community tends to evolve into so much more and I find that I'm reading but don't have the time to respond. It literally takes hours to go through all of these posts and you are just one board. Imagine what it's like posting and reading all of them.

I think he means the naming of the Conflux. They had fish names before. Manta, Squid, Eel, etc.
