Having not read Trit's post yet on the ND forums, I can say I'm looking forward to it.

There are so few decent posts anymore its really sad. The days that ND was here, the hardcores were here, and the WoW fagsters hadn't heard yet were great, but sadly this downhill is getting exponentially worse. I guess I should be happy, there will be plenty of sleep to slaughter when the time finally does come....

My in-game actions? Mining in Aman Gate? I'm no angel, but I do have the mental capacity to see both sides of the argument, and since you and yours don't seem to be capable, I've been trying to enlighten you for years. I'll admit, I used to give a crap that people were leaving the game because they got sand kicked in their face, but ultimately it's a design fault just as much as it is people enjoying being a bully. ND still refuses to see that, so screw 'em.

I gave a frak about people picking on other players, probably because I have always hated bullies, not because of a measely 100k pod. In Taikodom, the game mechanics reward you for civ-ripping, in Jumpgate you got nothing but a kill-stat.

I meant you got a stat for killing a civ when there was enough players left in the game for it to make a difference in how many devs/gms they could afford to work on it. (AKA when the online numbers were at least in the triple digits [net, that means they have 3 numbers, like 300 has 3 numbers in it...3 is one number and the two 0's make 3 numbers...or "digits"]) I'm sorry the "it did when it mattered" was too complicated for you to understand.

It's not a design flaw, it's how the game is played. A haulers goal is to haul things. A pirates goal is to pirate people. Jumpgate offered this type of freedom, and that is one of the reasons it was great. It had open ended gameplay, and you could do what you wished.

Being a hauler, you should be aware of the dangers. Conflux, Pirates, Roids, Petals, etc... Without the dangers, hauling would be an empty experience.

Being a pirate, you should be aware of the dangers. Mercs, Bounty Hunters, Factionalists, Traps, etc. Without those dangers, pirating would be an empty experience.

I do not see what is broken about this system. Do the ghosts grief you in Pac Man? Does the 13 year old azn kid grief you in Counter-Strike?

I didn't civ-rip for a kill stat. I did it for the reputation. The more feared you are, the more money you get from NAPs. The NAPs are the goal... the MONEY is the goal.
