Sorry if this has been talked about somewhere else. I was just wondering if i might throw out a couple of different things. first....
1. does anyone know if scorch or anyone else has said something to the effect of keeping code flexible for 3rd party progs like jump's and JgrotPro.....although a built in rot prog would be kewl.
2. on second thought i will put the next one in suggestion forum.

Short answer is yes. All those 3rd party apps were developed around the Downloadable Database dump that occurs about every 5 minutes. Or the info is queried directly from JOSSH.

I'm sure there will be a data dump in Jumpgate Evolution.

There are reasons not to have it, and technical problems that can occure as well...

hopefully much of what rocked in jgrot as a feature will be included in Jumpgate Evolution's in space interface. Particularly the in flight market listers, web browser and information db.

I left out roid database and arti hunt patterns as Im praying that both roids and artifacts will be dealt with differently in Jumpgate Evolution. Roids without specifically fixed locations and proper wreckage based 'equipment' artifact finds over the never ending gift wrapped 'presents from the past' of Jumpgate Classic.

uh... Scorch, I hope y'all add in more stuff tracked than in Classic. Sort of like total amount of ore mined, major mining medals for Common and Precious Metals, more steps in the Unity Stripe ladder, umm..perhaps a list of who killed who...a permanent list of title's held and dates... total number of beacons tuned and other neat stats as well as all the tedius details most people aren't interested in.

You should think about only dumping the 'net worth' type stats every hour as the information is wide open to abuse.

I'm glad to see the dump will be "standardised". As for the actual data, im sure that whatever you put in there, someone will want more/less. In the end so long as there is enough to be getting on with (like what was already being dumped) then i am sure we will survive

What about the possibility of not ever publicizing 'net worth' or allowing the player to decide if they want it publicized? It was great to have all that data available, but led to annoyances such as tracker programs claiming that Wizard401 was my second account. :P

If the economy will be "fixed", then 'net worth' should be fairly trivial.
