Jumpgate Evolution Emissaries

The new Emissary system feels like the old Jumpgate Classic CCJ system to me (which I was a part of). Any time you empower certain players in a public way, things tend to get ugly.

Yeah, not a good idea. We have seen it all before and it will get ugly like before. It's probably going to be worse since they asked the members who they wanted. That never works.

Agreed, this thing never works out. These guys will let it get to there heads (nothing personal... I'm not really familar with any of them).

Mightygames had there hands full on this as well. They'd have volunteer in-game GM's. I've actually been attacked by a ship in god mode because I caught dude running a tow in unreg (back when there was no insurance) on a target list and destroyed him. He came back in god mode running his mouth. haha.

I said from the start it was a bad idiea and hell i was on the short list for it.

I dont think its a bad idea, but they should have just made new accounts for Emmisaries so noone knew who they were..

I can't imagine it would be that hard to figure it out just by listening to them:

EmissaryX: "I hate online games and other people, please make Jumpgate only have AI in it like squids so I can kill more squids than anyone else. Also add in a chatbox so I can explain to other 'players' how I have killed more squids than them".

Yeah but still.. Atleast it would be their own fault if they revealed their identity.

And it's not like PoGBS was any more liked because their identities were secret.

I don't think ND is going to give the emissaries any special powers beyond a forum title. All the reasons listed here are good examples why it is a bad idea. I hope ND has learned from the past. I guess time will tell.
