Jumpgate Evolution: Faction Stations with Personal Space that can be Stocked by AI
Maybe a pipe dream, but this is what I'm hoping for. All faction stations will allow a certain amount of storage (like Depot). With that space you can actually hire the AI (or Haulers) to stock your space, a feature depot storage doesn't have. You can also set the prices if you want to make your storage "public" so that if the main station stores are out, people can buy from you. Kind of like a shopping mall in every station. I would much rather have a system like this than a ton of random POS floating everywhere. Ideas, problems? |

Dang that title is too long. How about using the thread to describe it not the title so much.
![]() I would rather there be an in game job board to hire players instead. Maybe the AI can kick in if you don't get an offer in a set time. |

It's a good idea in general, but I would think it'd have to be seriously limited in scope. For instance, only 1 outstanding request at a time, or requests for Tier 1 items only. And maybe the request has to go unfilled by human players for X time before an AI picks it up.

Having AI do in game work for you is what single player games are for don't you think?
AI doing faction related stuff is repugnant enough IMHO but letting AI haul stuff for you is wrong on every level and would cause a galaxy wide mack strike...... Never mind, if mack goes out on strike the AI will pick up the slack. AI hater biteme. |

Im a bit confused. I think I made a remark about not hearing about 'stations' in Jumpgate Evolution and that was confirmed by Istvan, that there hasnt been an official comment on if there will be more than 1 station.
So, for now Id say that we're going to have just 1, which by the sheer size (as per reports) should be more than enough for a long while, but I do agree, space on the station and perhaps access/rental to the production facilities. ELP |

I like the idea net, especially with QK's and Jump's additions. Hangar space, storage space, market space, and production facilities all for rent! No more POS as we know it too! HA! Job boards that either other pilots or AI could/would take up. Job's would be limited by the amount in the pilot's account. Perhaps like some hotels do your credit card, where they "block off" a certain amount until the bill is complete. Thus avoiding the dreaded "check's in the mail" problems.
Imagine you "rent" the equivalent of a POS built into a faction or even commercial/corporation stations. Heck, since we KNOW we'll have POSs in the game (such as squad stations or private corporations etc), perhaps we could even rent space there as well. Maybe you could even rent space at foreign stations for storage/market space. Think of it. In time of peace, you would have greater profits, but in time of war you could lose everything stored there! You could shop in the the station market, or the privately operated stip malls/bazzars where the individual pilots set the prices and provide the merchandise for sale. I'd still like a station ever couple of sectors minimum, since we can't change equipment in flight or reload/repair/refuel without docking. |
