WarCry Network : Jumpgate Evolution Preview

Im reading this recent article on Warcry... and Im not liking it much...

On the PvP side, Peterscheck mentioned a variety of ways it will find its home in the game. At a basic level, there will simply be areas of space where anyone can fight each other. He feels it's important that there be safe places and this is a model that has worked quite well for other space games, like EVE. He also mentioned that they're open to full PvP servers if there is a demand for it from the community.

Interesting, I guess I'll end up in another game or remain in Jumpgate Classic.........

im really not paying attention to those anymore. i get whatever new info they can throw at me then...for the most part, ignore it until confirmed by ND.

wasnt that the one that said Evo was built using Java?

I will start paying attention to the reviews when the reviews get to play the game. Until then it's all just bull.

I dunno.... Herbert says crap like this all the time. It looks like we're definately gonna have lamity such as Safe Zones in JumpGate: EVE.

I'll be more... quiet when I know what they call 'demand'. The difference right now, as they dont think there is demand or they would already say it, is in Jumpgate Classic we have PvP without safezones, and in Jumpgate Evolution we dont have PvP server, untill there is demand for it that is.

Until we actually get into the game, even Beta, none of what anyone says about how the game will actually be played, means crap. We also expect stuff to change after folks get into Beta and start breaking and twisting things. Despite all the good things we've heard, the actual game play could turn out to be crap and none of us will re-up after the first month's tithe. Alternately, the game play could be so good and the unreg content so great that a few safe zones won't bother even the most blood thirsty ( I doubt it but I refuse to limit the possibilities prematurely).

I refuse to let anyone's opinion ruin my dreams for the world's greatest game. Real life will do that soon enough I'm sure.
