I love that guy.

And I liked his comment about MMOPRG and FPS shooters not getting along with the fancy circle chart.

I hope someone at the NetDevil office picks up on this and they get a good laugh while learning something.

Nice summary of a bunch of problems that ND faces.

That reminds me, I need to add that word to the filter.

It's funny but that guys shtick is always the same. High speed negative rambling with lot's of moving images that actually took much longer to put together.

i love how he can make a perfectly entertaining game sound like a pile of crap in craphell.

But, I dont take his "reviews" seriously.. its most for laughs.

Re: Netdevil could learn something from this review

Not sure what I should exactly be "learning" from this. The points he seems to make to me are:

-Grind is good

-FPS players are different than MMO players so do don't make an MMOFPS

-MMO players are dumb

Am I missing something? What is the hidden wisdom you want us to see in this? I do think its funny however.

Re: Netdevil could learn something from this review

Yes they are funny but shooting fish in a bucket is not sport. He did the same deal for BioShock but that game was obviously successful and it was/is fun.

I was hoping you'd see:
Don't clone WoW and add space sim bits.
Grind will alienate FPS/Space sim players.
Choose your target audience and please them well.

I guess the last part is the most important. Who is your target audience? Space simmers or MMORPG players? I guess I qualify as the former although I've got a couple MMORPGs under my belt right now. I couldn't be arsed in either of them to grind myself up to 50. It generally only took between 20 or 30 levels for the new to wear off and for things to start getting dull. WoW kept me a little longer because the crafting was really neat. I figure both WoW and CoH had me for about 6 months, but even so Jumpgate is the game I always wanted to play.

I guess more than anything I'm scared that Jumpgate Evolution will be too MMORPGy, and lose what made Jumpgate special.
