Bite, you hit it on the nose (IMO). But in fairness to us crusty, curmudgeonly old vets, the problem is that we have become so close to the game and have such feeling for it, that it's really personal to us -- we feel a sense of ownership and entitlement. But in the grand scheme of things, we're just a small handful of overly vocal players.

I think NetDevil has/does feel some small sense of loyalty of the long-time Jumpgate supporters. That's why we've gotten away with some of the things we have in the past. Now there's a new sheriff in town and CodeMasters will have no such sense of loyalty.

I mentioned somewhere about people maybe accepting that this isn't going to be the game for them.
Why should ND/CM care if some of the abusive elements of the community are not made welcome. Some people have spent years ignoring the fact that the way they behaved generally wasn't totally socially acceptable.(myself included to an extent) With 100 people playing the game it wasn't really that big a deal though.
New game, new players, new community. About time some accepted that.

I'm opinionating that ND is better off selling this thing to adults who are there core audience. Jumpgate is riddled with conflict between players and Codemasters/Netdevil needs to acknowledge (IMO) it and build in safeguards instead of acting like forum nazi's.

Did it degress quickly? yup. All I mentioned was hookers (tongue in cheek clearly...did I really expect hookers in space? Is there some crazy ass hooker armada I expected to be implemented?) and he decided that wasn't appropriate, and I gave him the 'F YOU' in return.

What you want to be careful of is if Codemasters follows the "banned from the forums, banned from All Codemasters games" rule that a lot of other publishers follow nowadays.

So it's only "abusive elements" that are upset with what's going on? Rather simplistic answer and far off the mark as far as I'm concerned. Many many people are not happy about what has been coming from the Jumpgate Evolution front. From what I see most of them are not these so called "abusive elements".

I won't spend much time on that site (and the last one as well) because of the abusive elements that are catered to and not banned or dealt with. People such as takidog and others who seem to have something to say about everything and everyone but are allowed to because they suck like a pro. Or a certain emmisarie who comes here and makes multiple accounts to vote multiple times on a poll. Real integrity on the staff eh? Fucking trolls is what they are. It's just like that little shit at work that never does anything but humps the bosses leg. Every place has them. They get away with murder while minor offenders are disciplined. The same things happen on those big financed websites.



It seems to be ok over there, as well as the old site, to bash veterans. Just don't bother the new people, keep your chin moist, and bash the old guys and you will do well. Also dare not ask for anything in the new game to be like the old game. Then you will be labeled as a whining old vet.

If NetDevil wants to turn their backs on the people that kept the name Jumpgate alive all these years when it deserved to die then it can only come back to haunt them.

That being said. You really shouldn't go over there and be rude and crude. It is a corporate site and only a ignorant company would allow that.

If you want to be rude and crude you can always go to that ugly ass yellow site or your can use our sandbox. I don't see that ever going over well on that site.

heck, i don't even remember who the emmisaries are any more and don't care a whole lot about it. The role doesn't really seem to fill much of a purpose on a game that's not even in beta yet.
