I could be wrong but most modern 3d engins get a list of resolutions your hard whare supports from the OS and allows you to choose any of them.

Thats what WoW does at least, I noticed the avail resolutions change if im on my laptop or desktop. Thats the most logical way to go, id think.

Just an update, I have a 'new' (yeah right) computer! 1 ghz cpu, 1gb memory, and a 256mb gfx otw. I think that will get me safely above the min spec line.
