Re: Possible Jumpgate Evolution box art
BTW, the official Jumpgate Evolution site (not the forum, the game site itself) has a link to a survey about these potential box art images.
Personally, I think the plain white one looks too much like the box art for "Prey". I voted for the second one. |

Re: Possible Jumpgate Evolution box art
They emailed me a survey and I really liked the reddish and greenish variations better than the light bluish. I guess I dislike sols more than quants.

I really like #1 but I think #5 would be best on store shelfs.

Re: Possible Jumpgate Evolution box art
Except that, at first glance (which is usually all you get), it looks practically identical to the box art for "Prey".

Re: Possible Jumpgate Evolution box art
I was initaly torn between #1 and #4.
#1 is catchy but tells you nothing about the game at first glance. #4 is catchy, clean and gives you a visual clue that it is a space combat game. The others do the same as #4 but the art work is too busey and distracting. It's difficult to make out, at a distance what the box is trying to tell me. In online stores the image of the box is front is going to be about half the size of what's shown in this post, so it has to be clean and easy to see. Trying to depict action, explosions and speedy ships in a still image makes for a messy small image. I got into Jumpgate Classic because the side of the box stood out from the other boxes on the shelf. The side art is what ND realy needs to focus on. The front of the box is only going to be visible on the shelf for the first week or 2 if the front is displayed at all. |
