Re: Rhetorical Poll #1: Reg Space == Safe Zone
Ok, and the big surprise here...I voted NO..if we get a system where we have a choice not to pvp or to do it, then its unnecessary. All of reg is too much to make a free zone from pvp, even pirates have a right to attack frieghters, etc in reg space, but with consequences, like security teams to wast them adds excitment and if it wasnt for excitment there wouldnt be any pirates, so.. some safe zones, yes, but not THAT much.

Re: Rhetorical Poll #1: Reg Space == Safe Zone
Why not just copy the way Freelancer(singleplayer game, but) does it. and tweak it by some degree.
There in the core areas(near stations, planets,) you are pretty safe, but depending on your alignment, if you are a vicious killer, they will attack you. There is NPC police patroling around. But they arent invulnerable, there is enough of them( its their hometerf) to kill few bad guys, or atleast be able to hold them off while those haulers/miners manage to flee. Once you head away from these core areas, you will be more open to attacks, I think there are still some police patrols there, but very light. This is why they have NPC escort ships. These fly with the hauler, and attack foes while the hauler has time to flee. I think this system(while not perfect) is the best option. |

Re: Rhetorical Poll #1: Reg Space == Safe Zone
Yes reg space would be nice as a safe zone.
Just like empire space in EVE is safe..... NOT No matter what ND does, it wont be safe. The pirates will always outnumber the hard working players, and will find a way to steal instead of work for thier money. |
