Not until they put something in the sectors. At present Jumpgate is more about point A and point B than what's in the middle, and that's why hauling bores the bejeebus out of me.

Re: Speed in Jumpgate Evolution...

The only reason you should spend a lot of time in a sector is if there is something to do. Put more stuff in and speed up the ships. If I want to do some task or see something I will divert my path and go towards that point in the sector. But to just fly through and take forever doing it, not fun. A lot of people complain about that in EVE as well.

Re: Speed in Jumpgate Evolution...

Exactly Jump. I quit Eve when I realised that all I was doing was logging in to start my next skill training and not doing anything because I was always in the wrong place and it would take an hour to get to where the action was. I definitely don't want to see that in Jumpgate Evolution (although as stated previously I am a now casual gamer so I am aware that I am not the primary market - which is mostly people who DO have the time to spend 80% of their time in game waiting for the fun bits to happen).

This could really speed up the erosion of my insurance rating

Bah, search for Hearthstone Hyperdrives in the JOSSH suggestion forum, that's the way for the casual gamer to get his fight on.

Hearthstone'esque jmps potentially would allow me to jump from aman to cornea. Thats not logical and goes against the universal law - though shalt not do anything that is too easy Jumping to the limit of your fuel allowance is tried and trusted technology*.

Re: Speed in Jumpgate Evolution...

There is one factor that limits speed/acceleration for PvP. It's lag. The speeds we have are handled quite good. Acceleration is at it's limits, but still quite OK. Remember the marios? They did lag allot due to their acceleration (in combination with high speed of course).
This is of course relative to ship size, weapons range, average fighting distance etc. so if these change, you should change speed too.

So now I'm back at core, with at least a 30 minute ride back down to QC, and then from there I have to look for the person again.

Yes, the new Mil map helps if someone has bothered to flip beacons, but it still takes you a lot of time to get to the sector before they have moved off completely.

Without the ability to speeddock and refresh at enemy stations, we need SOMETHING to help us get back in these fights earlier.

And don't you DARE mention POS as the solution.
With respect, why would I bother continuing to suggest anything to you?
There is a group of people on these forums that clearly see their way as the only way. You guys keep slapping each other on the back with your great outdated approach to the game.

bah, Jumpgate should write some, and it's not like hyperdrives are anything new. If you go with a fuel thing, then it can be used any time you have fuel, and will have to be placed into balancing equations. With a hyperdrive thing you can set up strict limits of how often it can be used (i.e. once an hour for fighters, and once every 3 hours for heavier craft), and what needs to happen for it to work (i.e. full shields for 30 seconds)

I fail to see the harm in allowing 1 aman to cornea trip with that big of a wait time in between
