They should, however, do hyperdrives for casual gamers
I like the idea of player controlled stations, like LL, EE, KH, etc. I do not like the idea of random stations all over the damn place, more than half of which are no longer in service. Adding more unreg based stations would be great, especially if they were in the unreg sectors between the factions, but I will always stand by my comment that POS in their current fashion have destroyed Jumpgate Classic.

Re: Speed in Jumpgate Evolution...

You're fooling yourself then. Lack of economic support destroyed Jumpgate Classic. Leaving only 1 dev to work on it did too. POS changed a lot of things, and very few of them were for the better, but had they given Istvan 2 or 3 programmers to work with I'm pretty sure we would have ended up better off. There just weren't enough developers on the project to address the problems caused by POS.

Re: Speed in Jumpgate Evolution...

You are fooling yourself.

Why stock a faction station when you can just stock your own POS?

Why land at a faction station when you can just /home and use your hanger at your POS?

Why defend a faction station when you don't even use them.

They KILLED the faction stations.

Sure there were a select few that looked past the POS and continued to stock faction stations, but not enough to support the people who hadn't done all the Matt Farming and could afford to use a POS as their own home and keep it stocked.

Right, point is, nothing that couldn't have been overcome by an adequate development team.

Keep pos's for the PVE servers and let the pvp servers have /homed faction stations only.

No, POS killed the game for the hauling squads. Sure there were a lot more stations to haul to and from but the role play to motivate it died. There just seemed to be no reason to do it after the initial "new" factor wore off. Hauling for factional forces and to defend ones faction space was a great motivator for PVE.

Re: Speed in Jumpgate Evolution...

Cant say as Ive ever heard of a non pvp pilot decrying the evils of POS's before. Personally I believe it was the pure mining based econ with no profitable runs that nuked the hauler rp, removing as it did a big slice of the game (plus that sweet ship that got nerfed, I forget its name..) But opinions do differ with longitude as I'm sure you'll agree.

Sorry but all you lot that go on about POS or some other crutch killing Jumpgate Classic are not fooling anyone, at least not any EU players. As Grim has said, lack of development killed Jumpgate Classic, on the EU server it was more of a hinderance. I think what killed Jumpgate for the EU players after the merge was the econ.

The notion that POS killed Jumpgate Classic is ridiculous and laughable. YOU LOT KILLED Jumpgate Classic with your ridiculous claims and suggestions, and it looks like you are all trying to kill Jumpgate Evolution before its even released.!!!

POSes didn't kill Jumpgate. But they stole a lot of the enjoyment from the game.

That notion is what is ridiculous and laughable. I would suggest you don't read suggestion forums on any site if it displeases you.
People are aware and also blatantly ignorant as to why. The way in which they were embraced as an extra part of the game. With many suggestions you would think that they actually detracted from the game, when in actual fact every person insinuating this actually used them on a daily basis.
With regard to insults etc. I see double standards. Some seem to be allowed to discuss, get frustrated, then make childish immature insults/attacks. Some like I think dail did was to be passionate, and frustrated. No1 is ever always right, but being frustrated and passionate does not equal rude and insulting.
