LOL @ this thread.
It really does need to be split up. One thread could be titled "Speed in Jumpgate Evolution" and the other thread could simply be called "Clusterfrak." My Opinions: (incase anyone cares) SPEED: IMO, the speed in Jumpgate Classic was fine for me. And infact, maybe it's a little too fast now that POS's are everywhere. POS's: Maybe not the single worst thing, but definately a very bad thing for Jumpgate Classic's economy and PvP. There are some things I like about POS's, but the bad far outweighs the good. |

Infact, the more and more i think about it, the more and more I think that perhaps speed should be slower, but the ships should react quicker. IE, their mass reduced considerably.
Consider some kind of hyperspace type drive to get from far off places quickly, with a long spool-up time. Once you get within combat range you want to cut to normal engines... which are maybe 300-400v. And all the ships mass cut by a third, with a corresponding cut in gun range, maybe to 1200d. Keep in mind, we will also have lateral thrusters. And get rid of the duelist for laser guns. Make it only possible to equip a targetting computer with ammo guns. |
