I think a log of all player transactions would be nice. Every Player can see then, if another Player abuse his trading account to support a griefing account. It's also easyer then then to identify spys and thiefs, that stole things foe example of a squad pos.

What if I want to secretly hire a hitman to take someone out for me? Payments to shady characters would look make yourself look rather shady. What if I don't want people to see how much money I've made recently, or where? Wouldn't that make me a nice target for someone who's short of a bit of spare change, or perhaps give away my trade secrets?

I could think of lots of reasons why this is a bad idea, at least IC ones. Your finances should be private, save for the government.

Edit/Addition: On the other hand, I'd be all for it if the log was private. I'd think that watching your money grow with options such as 'Show profit within last 7 days' or something would be rather satisfying, not to mention informative and useful trying to find the best trade routes.

2) Private logs? Heck yeah. Public ones? Heck no.

Personally, I think more logging in general would be A Good Thing™, particularly things like the chat system output. It might not be that useful as citable evidence, depending on the format, but being able to review who said what (especially me, the most important person in my universe

) after the fact, without having to fart around with a potentially clunky chat interface, would be sweet, IMO.

I know I always wanted a kill/killed log. Who i've killed and how many times I've killed them or they killed me.

for the first 2 years I played jumpgate I kept a log myself on a spreadsheet. Then I had a hard drive crash and lost it. It was a sad day.
