No net, if you read the original post...player created meant squads having the ability to make squad-only missions...to get supplies for an upcoming attack or whatever.

I really like this idea. Giving squads (or even players for that matter) the ability to create their own missions would be a welcome addition to the game. If you want to put a bounty on someone, if you need some equipment, if you need some minerals, etc etc.

Then of coarse you can roll up your own RP to support those missions.

Yep! And correct me if I'm wrong, but I THINK Eve had that feature.

Re: What content type would you prefer?

I always thought there should be a mission posting board.

Jonboy wants you to deliver 100 Iridium to wake for 1MCr.

{Accept} / {Haha, Iridium! No way!}

Re: What content type would you prefer?

The in-station linkup system was designed to do this. I believe ti was felt that too much specificity would be an advantage to pirates -- so they ended up with "Hauler Wanted."

Re: What content type would you prefer?

They ended up with something no one ever used. The true beauty of a mission-based system would be that you could interact with people that played on a different schedule than yourself. Surely not for escort missions and the like, but ore and commod deliveries.

Besides, people could set up missions to bait the pirates, then who would be at the advantage?

Re: What content type would you prefer?

There is no way to pirate in game anymore, I think thats not a valid comment.

And as far as I can tell, noone is using the linkup system.

I would like to see it expanded on and improved for Jumpgate Evolution, I think it will be a pretty cool when it has enough people to use it.

Re: What content type would you prefer?

There's no way to pay or die in game anymore, I suspect the pirate tools work just fine. Of course, I'd be surprised if they could find anyone to use them on...

Re: What content type would you prefer?

I'm yet to figure out how you even get pirate tags now so that you can use the above mentioned tools....not that I would want to waste my time with that crap anyway. Yeah, let me waste valuable modx and gun slots so that when the defense comes I'm totally screwed and loose a crapload of money do to lack of insurance.

No freaking thanks.

Re: What content type would you prefer?

I'm also pretty sure that the loss of insurance comes from the negative PR, not the pirate tags. Pirate tags were designed with the pirating tools to allow people to victimize others without civ-ripping them (at least that's why I think they were designed). That way they don't have to submit to your will for you to get paid, and you don't have to ruin ALL of their work in producing and hauling crap around.

Re: What content type would you prefer?

So your telling me that if you use the insight to steal cargo from people there are no PR deductions?

How does that makes sense? Your a pirate, you stole from a civilian, and you are scott free, yet if you shoot them once, you get a temp bounty and if you kill them you go down 150 factional points which you can only get back 1 point per mission?
