What content type would you prefer?
Static Content - Fully developed storyline quests via NPCs, ala standard MMO
Dynamic Content - Missions generated based on what's going on on the server at the time. i.e. if there are Octs cruising around Inner Lighthouse, a military patrol mission to the area would be generated. Player Created Content - Where squad/guild leaders can post missions/contracts that any one can take as well as missions only their squad members can take to facilitate squad management. |

Re: What content type would you prefer?
Actually, on a factional sense, pie needs balancing. ATM it favour's the "eat any pie brigade"
Pie needs more balancing, its too large profile for the quants, too much a missile magnet for the octs and not that much really for the sols!! Smeg |

Re: What content type would you prefer?
PIE was nerfed. Many people left because pie is just not as good as the old PIE was. PIE was obviously better when EEA was around.
![]() OH, and I voted for a bit of all of them. |

Re: What content type would you prefer?
Nope, apparently there are lots of people who like static content. They don't seem to be inclined to vote on JSR polls apparently...but hey, what can ya do? Personally, I'm pro player content, and I think it could have done really well even back in Jumpgate's hayday. I ran a mining squad once, it would have been cool if I could have set up missions for my squadmates to mine semifluxor ore and dump it at our POS in GVB, and then put missions up for pvpers to patrol the main-gate GVB area.
Then ofcourse, my competition could have seen I was putting up patrol missions in GVB and hired pirates to harass quantar vessels in the area....and presto, players thicken the plot all by themselves.... |

Re: What content type would you prefer?
Last two for sure. I really hope ND can figure out a way to base missions off of what is currently going on in space. Also, make it so the AI server has something to do with it too. So you can pick up a pirate hunting mission and the AI server can spawn a pirate for you to chase down. etc etc etc
It would also be nice if someone could put in a bounty on a player in the mission computer and someone can take that mission and go hunt the person down. Same with if someone needs some stuff mined, put it in the computer and let a player fulfill that mission, and you pay them. If in a certain amount of time it isn't done, the AI can launch a miner to go do it. |

Re: What content type would you prefer?
Static content is what makes or breaks a game. Good static content is also reactive based on player activities, the outcome of previous missions, plaer statistics, Faction plolitical standings, ect. Static content is what ultimatly has to cary the game and keep things interesting.
Dynamic content should allways be done. It shows the developers and GMs are still there and they care. But there involvement can't be too frequent. Players will allways do there thing. It may not manifest itself beyond a micro community put players will make there own content. |

Re: What content type would you prefer?
You don't need GM intervention to do dynamic content. If you set up triggers to go off based on what happens on the server, then the content varies from day to day based on player action/inaction, and is therefore dynamic. At least by my definition.
By player created content, I mean giving the players the ability to make content, not what they do to entertain themselves. |
