By now many of you may already know that what you have suspected for some time has now been confirmed to be true. Welcome to the new world of Jumpgate Evolution. This is an exciting day for the Jumpgate community after all these years of waiting and speculations. Exciting to the community currently playing Jumpgate, and for those of us that once played and have never fallen out of love with that game. A game that brought the passion out of people like no other game they ever played. Through the years NetDevil had to keep busy on other projects to keep their business hopes alive. However, the passion for Jumpgate never died in their offices despite what many may have assumed. When the time came that they could give new birth to the game, they knew they would. That time is now, it’s their time, it’s our time, and it’s a wonderful time.

Here at Joystick Required the fires of passion for Jumpgate have never stopped burning. We have tried to be beacons, of light to the gaming community at large, and of hope for those that love the game. Sometimes that beacon burned bright, and sometimes it barely flickered, but it has never burned out. Now, NetDevil has honored us with the privilege of naming the new Solrain starter vessel for Jumpgate Evolution. I can tell you this old pilot is totally thrilled about that. Isn’t she a beauty?

The member that wins the naming contest will be thrilled enough to have been the one to name this new ship. However, we have another prize and it’s a pretty cool one at that. The pilot who names this ship will also receive a signed 8.5"x11" framed copy of the concept art for that ship. Better get your brains in gear and make some space on the wall. You may have noticed a new contest forum at Joystick Required. You may have even tried to start a thread there and found out you can’t. Don’t worry, all active members can reply there and once we set up the contest thread I’m sure you will posthaste. I’m thinking this will run a week, so don’t lolly gag. We may run it two weeks if the demand is high, or I get nasty PM’s.

So what are the rules? For one thing, we will count no entries in this announcement thread. If you want to discuss the contest do it here. However, do not submit your entries in this thread. On the other side of the coin, only entries are acceptable in the contest thread. Post your entry and move on. Don’t comment on your entries or others entries. Entries only and no noise. There is a maximum of five entries allowed. If you enter more than five will only count the first five you entered. This will keep our job of collecting the data less stressful. When the contest is over. The staff of Joystick Required will compile the entries. We will send A complete list to Scott Brown at NetDevil and he will pick the lucky winner. I say a complete list and I mean it. Scorch will pick the one he likes and we will just fly it when it’s commissioned.

So get those brains going and let’s name this awesome new space ship.

Yeah that was my fault. I can't stream JPR to this computer at work so while I was thinking everyone else was getting the juicy scoop from GM_Draker on Jumpgate Evolution I was reduced to rapid-fire refreshing web pages until I happened upon the sign-up link at the ND website and was like OMG New STUFF!"
