I have to rescind the earlier statement I made as GrimGriz now, as I've started playing it. I started Sunday, so I'll give it another week or two and then rip it apart. There is mining though, so it can't be ALL bad..

It's still way too early for my review of WoW, having only been a week or whatever, but there are definitely things it does right that other games have done wrong, and things that it's done wrong that other games do right, and things they could have done better if they had asked me first ![]() |

Re: Anyone not playing WOW?
I do not play WOW, but I do play Lineage II, another game in the same genre. In fact, I left Jumpgate to join in open beta. Lineage II, I find is a lot better for the hardcore gamer. The leveling process is more rigorous than I noticed in WOW. There is no exp gain bonus for time away from game, you cant hit max level in 1 month (as friends of mine did in WOW - btw I have been playing for 2 yrs and am 2 lvls from max now), and the graphics I think are 300x better. On top of this Lineage II is almost completely non instance. There is no black screen when you leave an area, the entire world is one continuous space. The biggest and I feel the best difference between Lineage II and WOW is the OPEN PVP SYSTEM. So like Jumpgate you can kill anyone - anytime - and no reason at all. We also have castles (7 total) that clans and alliances siege/defend and can own. Lineage II has dragons as well. Commoners (non leaders of castle owning clans) can obtain baby dragons and raise (level) them up to where they can ride on them (over land - they don't have wings). Clan Leaders who own a castle can actually fly around and attack people on thier dragon. We also have siege weapons etc. If you want more info pm me I'll be happy to share more or check out. Lineage II : The Chaotic Chronicle.

Re: Anyone not playing WOW?
Im guildmaster of an alliance guild on a PvP server. I don't get much time to play that anymore either.
I hesitate to compair WoW to jumpgate.. they are really different beasts. I do enjoy ganking horde though... especially after they kill a guildy... and then we camp them for their sillyness. |
