I tried running this game but every single game based on the freespace 2 engine I try to run, just gives me errors and crashes to desktop on my laptop.

Probably because you need an HTL (Hardware Transform and Lighting) video card, and most laptop cards aren't - they're integrated.

Another common problem is OpenAL not being installed.

The flight engine on stick is as sloppy as anything, you spend more time fighting the stick than the cylons so its a big "boooo" rating from me for this demo and unless fixed, the game. The graphics are sharp and the missions interesting but the demo falls over because its plays like your as nissed as a pewt (imo).

What do you mean "sloppy"? It's very crisp for me. I haven't had that experience at all.

I found it overshot immensely and firing on a target meant a miraiad of little adjustments as I chased the reticules across the screen. I dont know, maybe the default sensitivity was set too high for my system or I was just too heavy handed but its uninstalled now anyhow. I'll wait for the full game before I retry probably.

Finally tried it out...couldn't get my X52 to work at all, and I had to disable joystick completely just to keep from spinning in circles.

But with mouse keyboard it was pretty cool. Gives me an idea of how impossible it is to control lateral thrusters, shields, direction, weapon load out, and aim at a target all at once..... Hope Jumpgate Evolution figures out a way to make it work. I bet it would have been better if I could have used my joystick.
