SecuRom is not a rootkit. It runs at user level, not kernel level. For more info: Clearing the air: Bioshock does not contain a rootkit
It is also running VERY well on my rather aging comp. p4 2.8GHz, 1.5 gig DDR400, nVidia 6600GT 256 mb, Santa Cruz 5.1 surround |

I missed this interview Friday with Ken Levine. I think he answers the complaints quite well. There is every indication that the activation system has a lifespan and it will eventually be removed. Which should alleviate the "OMG, what if they go under and I want to play the game in 23 years" crowd.

![]() ![]() ok i got it to load once, now i cant get past the little Bioshock splash screen, have used the latest beta drivers and still no joy, Getting a wee bit PO at the mo....Went back to last set of drivers and its running ok now |
