Re: BioShock
I wish.
I think I'll just wait until I build my StarCraft II PC, then pick this up for $20... *cries* My PC now has the minimum specs and I think it would just ruin it for me to play it like that. Maybe I should steal my friend's Xbox... |

Re: BioShock
Awesome! I just installed Vista last night on my new machine and got those beta drivers. I've been playing so many 360 games lately because my pc was showing its age, but hopefully this machine will allow me to get back in to PC gaming again. I think I'm going to have to get me a new Joystick though, mine actually still used the game port on my SoundBlaster and my new on-board sound doesn't have one. Has anyone tried the 360 controller with the PC adapter in any kind of space/flight sim?

Re: BioShock
I don't know if you have been following the news about all the crap this game pulled... ie widescreen issue, driver issues, install/registration issues, and securom rootkit...
I hope you enjoy the game, but i have decided not to buy it now. This sort of crap is unacceptable and the only way i know how to make a point is not buying the game. Sucks too because it looks good.... stupid companies... |

Re: BioShock
I really don't care what all those rude ass bitches have to say on their website. I have never seen a group of foul retarded whinar's like that. There is a launch issue and their screaming "class action blah blaah blah." What a bunch of morons.
The game installed fine for me, played fine for me, and it was a awsome game. Keep in mind that me and all the others that don't have issues aren't posting on that website. It worked fine for me on my wide screen. If there is an issue with the techno geeks I don't care, it worked fine for me. I'm sure if there is a root kit installed, which we don't really know, then it will be handled. But then that group will still complain. I have seen a lot of moaning from people that refuse to load the nvidia/ati updates that were released for this game. There are a lot of people that refuse to load the microsoft hotfixes because they breeak Riva Tuner. There are a lot of people that build their gaming systems and refuse to ground themselves with a $5 strap. If you read various forums long enough then you see that the majority of problems come from the same people over and over again. The ones with real issues never get through with all the noise. I see people complaining that have the exact same hardware setup as me. So it can't be their hardware unless they have altered it or damaged it. They have the same OS, so it can't be that unless they refuse to run updates or alter it in some way. A lot of people have issues because they have issues. I personally try to ignore all the noise. It's a great game. If you don't get to play it then it's your loss. I'm sure there will be patches to fix whatever issues there are. But I had none at all. *shrugs* |

Re: BioShock
Here is an example of a issue that people are screaming endlessly about.
Shader Models. No SM 2.0 support. Well, SM 3.0 has been out for three years now. And everyone has warned ATI to get with the program. To me this would be like people crying because the XBOX 360 version doesn't run on an XBOX. ATI screwed these people not 2K. To me this is a subjective issue and not a bug. The only real issues I see are the DRM one. Which may be how all games are going. It only encourages hackers and makes them heroes instead of villains. But this is an industry issue and the battle will be played on much bigger battle fields than BioShock. Blame this on the music industry and Microsoft. The other issue I think that set this off is the game was far more popular than the launch servers could handle. And then of course the impatient ones clicked constantly in hopes of it not being unstable. lol This caused a lot of moaning to start the launch and the mood. Valve's Steam screwed up royally and added to the problem. The pre-load was really only 80% and when the masses clicked at 1:00 PM to play the d/l of the other 20% killed the servers and started a simultaneous uproar on the forums and of course, more morons clicking every three seconds hoping to fix the problem. All in all I would say it was a horrible launch event and it set the tone for nastiness over various websites. Things seem to be calming down a bit and threads for real issues are getting through. I'm sure real issues will be fixed. As far as subjective issues, who knows. Either way, it's a great game and will set new standards. I'm just wondering who's demented minds thought up the crazy story line and if their mothers know about it. lol I think I will go play it again. |
