Definitely time to reinstall MW4: Mercenaries
Within the next couple weeks, MekPak 2 should be released, according to the devs at MekTek.
Now, of course, this is pending on many things, but they originally said 1 week ![]() So, really, giving a couple weeks to it should be good. Regardless, I'm reinstalling on my pristine copy of Windows XP.. |

i love mw4: mercs! I still play it from time to time, tho not on the multiplayer stuff. I tried them for a while, but i don't have any mech packs or anything (i couldn't figure out if they were for my game or for the other MW4 game or for it's expansion or if that expansion would also work for mercs or whatever, so i didn't bother).
Anyway, a very cool game, i've played it since it's inception. That and privateer are two games that I still keep half an eye out for an old 286 or so to play on. Anyway, do you play multi player? Should i invest the money in the existing mech packs, or wait for this new one? Or does all that stuff only apply if you have that other MW4 game? I'm a cougar kinda guy, btw. I like the little zippy around stuff... probably why I like riding a bike, too. |

The two mech packs work for both mercs and vengeance.
But, unless you can find them for about ~10 bucks apiece, don't bother. They don't add THAT much to the game (I USED to have them, but no longer do.). Since the oh-so-awesome MekPaks, you have, with a FREE expansion, 9 additional mechs, and we're about to add 18 to that, plus more in MP3. If you can get the two packs from MS for 10$ apiece, you may want to think about. Good luck though. Yes, I play Multiplayer. It's fun Not my thing for a constant experience, but I really, really enjoy the game. In the upcoming expansion, they're putting in a bunch of lighter mechs, which look very cool. |

Dasher. Can anyone say 180kph? ![]() I'm in the MP2 beta, and, well...it's supercool ![]() I'd recommend getting the Mech Paks though, the 8 mechs they add are nice. 0_o |

I haven't played a MW game since MW2. I think I might have played a MW3 demo for a few minutes, but I've always felt too disconnected from the suit being displayed on screen. I'd always just pick something big with lots of guns and do the equivalent of an MS spam on anything that moved. I'd really hope that there's supposed to be more skill to the game than that.
I believe I've only ever played with the keyboard, though, so maybe I should try again now that I have a decent joystick I feel comfortable with. I'd imagine it's much easier to aim and be more conservative with ammo, and also gives a better feel for the suit being displayed. |

I reinstalled MW4:V the other day and was kind of disappointed in its joystick handling.. I wanted to control the look up/down and left right with my stick, and rotate the torso with my pedals... in the end, it didn't let me use all my buttons and started treating some axes as the same no matter how i mapped or did not map them...
just an old game, probably would be better to pull out the old sidewinder 2 ![]() |
