Discovery Channel: Rise of the Video Game
Did anyone watch this last Wed? I just saw an article about it on slashdot and it has me intrigued. It is a show about the history of video games, and since I really like Discovery channel's shows, I'm betting I will like this one.

It included those games as Episode 1 is about the beginning of gaming, but no, its not just about Atari.
They will progress through the years through the next 4 episodes. I bet a plushy flux Jumpgate Classic isnt included  |

Discovery's shows tend to be more hit-and-miss in my very limited experience. They did a deal on the Harley VRod (a subject i have a bit of experience with) a while back. The whole thing was just a 1 hour commercial for harley. Not that there is anything wrong with that, of course, but we are defiantly blurring the line between education and entertainment here. Well, there, at least.
For the record, some of my favorite programming is on discovery, so i'm certainly not trashing the channel. Just sayin. |
