Re: EvE has pissed off its playerbase
EVE is a great resource for seeing how different ideas have worked or not worked. I look at it as reference material for Jumpgate Evolution. They've bore the brunt of the learning curve for a complex enonomy, corporation structure (guilds), etc. Now ND can look at EVE and cherry pick what fits with their goals for Jumpgate Evolution.

I'm with QrazyKermi on this. There are some very important lessons here:
Building a game where your power is determined largely on just the amount of time in-game can lead to serious problems. There wouldn't be nearly this big of an outcry if people just had to re-learn how to fly other ships, and weren't going to be stuck with a huge number of worthless in-game skills which cost them time and money to acquire. |

In Jumpgate, the thing that takes time to acquire is skill, which you have to practice at. The more you put in, the more you get out. But some learn very quickly. |

Re: EvE has pissed off its playerbase
I just got the email of EVE: Trinity and it had 2 pictures (before and after) of one ship. You can notice more image quality, which has been one of their strongs. Following an excerpt from the mail.

![]() BTW I read on that news link about EVE and at the end of it basically says that they suggested to nerf the cap ships and such and that the fan reaction was naturally that, but it doesnt say that the change was made active. ELP |

Re: EvE has pissed off its playerbase
I liked EVE, to a point. The graphics were spectacular, the ships and enemies were cool, but it seemed overly complex for a newbie. I couldn't get a handle on how a lot of things worked...there was too much going on. And of course the fact that it was click-and-go was sad.
