Final Fantasy?

I was just sitting here at work letting my mind wander, and it wandered to Final Fantasy for some reason. I "think" I quit playing the series at about FF8, which I'm thinking was the last one for the SuperNes, but due to not having a deep personal experience I pretty well don't remember.

Anywho, I was wondering if anyone here had kept up with the series and could tell me what games I've missed (not counting the ones for handhelds).

Re: Final Fantasy?

I hated that game, I had a few friends that would disappear from the world for days whenever a new one came out...which left me with noone to hang out with since I wasn't "into" the game.

Re: Final Fantasy?

They are up to XII. I've played I and a tiny part of II. A lot of VII and VIII and X. Plus my co-favorite game w/ Jumpgate is FFXI, which is the MMORPG rendition of the series.

*Edit* My avatar is Squall from FFVIII if no one knew

Re: Final Fantasy?

I'm pretty sure there is a IX, i've just not played it. VII & VIII were PS for sure, and I think VI was too. I know that I & II was ported to PS and released as FF Origins, and III-V was another port and compilation. X and later have been released for PSII. XII actually may have been released for PSIII as well, I'd have to look into that. They also made 2 movies, FF: The Spirits Within which is a stand-alone, and FFVII: Advent Children. If you liked FFVII you will love this movie. Heck, even if you've never heard of Final Fantasy before, I'd recommend the movie. Unfortunately I have dreadful return rates on loaning games to people, so when I get replacements and the other ones I'm missing, they are never leaving my possession again! (Thankfully I haven't and won't loan out Advent Children).

*edit* This site seems to be as good a source of FF Info as any: Final Fantasy Compendium

Re: Final Fantasy?

1 was NES. 2-3 were japanese only. 4-6 Were on SNES. 7-9 on PS1. 10 was on PS2. 11 was the MMO. 12 was PS2. Then there were a bunch of spinoffs, like Final Fantasy Tactics.
