I've been reading here and there about how much of a piece of total junk DX10 is, and it looks like a game maker has finally got it right (well mostly at least).

Sadly, the best so-far implementation is not without bugs....

Maybe one day this DX10 card I got will actually get used.

I have played a lot of DX10 games that are much nicer looking than DX9. The ones that are made for DX10 are pretty good but the ones that are ported are usually a problem.

I've heard that game is pure unadulterated evil regarding their pricing structure. Here's something unabashedly stolen from a private discussion about this game on another forum I frequent, part of which came from the linked article.

"3. Consent to Use of Data. You agree that EA, its affiliates, and each Related Party may collect, use, store and transmit technical and related information that identifies your computer, including without limitation your Internet Protocol address, operating system, application software and peripheral hardware, that may be gathered periodically to facilitate the provision of software updates, dynamically served content, product support and other services to you, including online play. EA and/or the Related Parties may also use this information in the aggregate and, in a form which does not personally identify you, to improve our products and services and we may share that aggregate data with our third party service providers."

Man, if that doesn't give you the _________ creeps. . .I mean, the extra $10 you have to pay for 'premium' service just so you can pay the full game is bad enough, but this seems INSANE to me.

I actually thought that was a pretty good idea to let multiplayer be free, with an upgraded gaming system that costs money for the people willing. I wish that is something they would do with Jumpgate Classic to bring the numbers back up...or just make it entirely free.
