Here I thought I was the only JGer who didn't love the show.

I understand that a prequel is coming next year.

I don't like any Drama fiction. I like Science Fiction. Of course they say "oh but it shows the real way people would react and misbehave in space". Well we can't really fly through space either so if you want reality then watch "Days of Our Lives."

I like the classic style Sci-Fi where the hero is not a puddle of emotional yuk and overcomes all odds, plus pilots space ships. You know, Fiction.

Yes it is a visual masterpiece but that's not enough for me. Just like it's not enough for a game to be all eye candy.

I liked when they were flying in space and shit.. I also didnt like all those character stories.. I mean, scifi fans want to see scifi things, like space battles, exploring the universe, anomolies, War, Aliens, Evil Robots, cool ships, gadgets..

So in short there isnt room for all that drama and all those characters for a cool scifi show, so it failed.

Yep prequil from before the cylon war based on Caprica. If you don't like BSG, you won't like it either.

I can't believe you people. Finally a sci-fi show with great writing, great actors, great CG, great action....and then you complain because it actually has some depth to it.

Thats cool, ya'll can watch the old shitty version on DVD all you want. Hell I'll give somebody my copy since I'll never watch it again

We aren't insulting people that like it so why do you insult and take offense at people that don't? Sci-Fi is a specific genre to many people.

Net, I don't like most SF on TV these days. With BSG, I'd have to disagree with your assessment: I think both the writing and the acting are poor. I was never a fan of the original either -- where the writing and acting were just riduculous.

I think the only SF things I have liked in recent years were Farscape and Firefly -- and even the latter I thought over-did the whole western thing.

I believe good SF is still about people, and I have no issues with good drama. I just dislike soap operas.

Sorry if you felt insulted Jump, I just am astonished that people actually hate my favorite TV show, I've NEVER met anyone who felt like ya'll do.
