Re: Favorite Star Trek Series?

That was a hard call for me, I really love pie. In the end though, I had to go with TNG because I grew up with it, by the times the later ones came out I started to realize there weren't girls in my area that were into dorky guys....

Re: Favorite Star Trek Series?

I've only met one girl who has liked ST as much as me, and sadly it didn't work out for other reasons, but it sure was fun talking to a girl about ST for once.

Re: Favorite Star Trek Series?

DS9 I missed the original, TNG got way too preachy at times, Voyager was all about the technobabble of the week, and by the time Enterprise rolled around I was too disillusioned with the whole thing to bother

Re: Favorite Star Trek Series?

I enjoy them all, the original is a little ridiculous because of the old school effects and costumes, but given the time it was pretty phenomenal. The acting is a bit whack too, but hey William Shattner is now legend! Haha.

TNG was good but the alien of the week format became pretty boring. The Borg was really cool, and I enjoyed Q mostly.

DS9 was easily the best of the series. After the first little bit when they decided to scrap the alien of the week format the stories became really engaging and enjoyable to watch. The entire Dominion war arc was incredible and it had an absolutely incredible cast of recurring characters. Andrew J. Robinson, Jeffrey Combs, and J.G. Hertzler were some of the greatest actors Star Trek has seen. The Ferengi episodes were a little lame for the most part but given that they weren't frequent it's something I can overlook. Colm Meaney should have had waaaay more screen time too.

Voyager was okay but it was very inconsistent. Way too much technobable and they went back to alien of the week which was bleh. They also pansified The Borg hardcore which was stupid. Jeri Ryan is hot though! Haha.

Enterprise had it's moments, it took way too long for the series to get good (the third season was really cool with the Xindi but that really had little impact on the show in general), and the fourth season was mostly good when they started telling the stories in mini-arcs. The first two seasons weren't exactly bad, but they messed around with time travel way too much and screwed around with canon a bit. I guess it's kind of hard to write a prequel series to a show with so much canon, but still.. they could have done a better job. It probably should have been given another season to try and attract some of it's audience back but it was probably just a bit too late. Also it was cool seeing Jeffrey Combs again!

Someone should make a favourite movie poll too. I'm far too lazy to do it myself though :P

Anyway, DS9 kicks some serious ass! The relaunch novels are amazingly good too.

Re: Favorite Star Trek Series?

I'll watch any of them if there's nothing else on, I have nothing on the DVR, and no movies in the queue to watch and I don't feel like doing something else. So I voted pie. :-)

Re: Favorite Star Trek Series?

Enterprise sucked big time the opening tune makes me want to puke. They should off done the klingon war, or kept it to what we know not make up utter tosh that was the xindia, lmao one of them was a water based life form one of them was a whale. Why do they need to go into space? Oh and the cold temporal war was just a rehash of pretty much everything.

Im a huge Star Trek fan and do watch it if its on but I was let sown by it, so much ive still yet to see the last few shows.

Like ds9 with all the wars, and wolf kicking arse.
