Lol, i love cheesy. Those 1000's of movies where for the entire first half of the movie you never saw the monster, just got it's perspective from the 'evil eye'? I love those. Giant ants are my favorite, but there was one with giant grasshoppers (like, 200 feet tall) that was classic as well.

Star trek doesn't get to call itself cheesy, though. It takes itself waaaaay to seriously to be in that category. Hell, it thinks it is it's own genre, sometimes.

So while i love cheesy, cheesy doesn't apply to star trek. It has to use a different adjective.

Just for the record, most of our military hardware (tanks, planes, ships, etc.) is protected from EMP. In fact the abrams tank was designed specifically to operate in an NBC (Nuclear/Biological/Chemical) environment.

If we can protect against it today, I'm sure the borg could do it 300 years in the future.

That's a really nice rendition. I always like the proportions of the original Enterprise the best. My only thought is that based on my recollection of NCC-1701 blueprints from my old Trek-geek books, the saucer is way too thin.

Nah, never had blueprints, but I do recall having a paperback book The Making of Star Trek (probably packed away in my attic somewhere) which did have some rudimentary ship layouts and also talked about numbers of decks and such.
