Re: The New Enterprise? Maybe....
Phew... I'd forgotten how ugly the original Enterprise was. Don't get me wrong- that's an impressive rendering of it. Seriously, though, that ship looks like it was designed by a blind guy with a ruler and a coke bottle. The nacells especially always seemed silly to me.
Maybe it's just me, but I like the aesthetics of the "later" Enterprise models much more than the original. |

Re: The New Enterprise? Maybe....
Well, there was the 60's, then there was the 70's, after that the 80's and 90's. A few things changed in their capabilities in that time. I liked it, but I watched it new and it was so cool to me and my buds. But then, I am a Dr. Who fan so a spinning box and flashing lights is ok with me as well.

Re: The New Enterprise? Maybe....
I like the re-imagining of the classic 1701. Gives me hope for the future of Star Trek.
I have the blueprints for the 1701-D and IIRC, the whale tanks were there in case they ever encountered another probe, as seen in Star Trek IV, so the whales could communicate with them. Or perhaps it was just an homage to ST4. Or maybe I'm just making shite up. ![]() |
