I remember how hopeful I was when they first came on the air. Finally a place to find good Sci-Fi 24 hours a day. But then they started failing to strike deals such as the B5 fiasco. Canceling popular shows in the first season. Then came the wrestling and now silly game shows. It's only a matter of time before the all night infomercials show up. With Stargate Atlantis going off the air what is there left that makes them a Sci-Fi experience besides Sanctuary? I won't even get started on the corny movies they make.
Anyone else feel the same? Or do you all like the direction it's taking? |

Re: Sci-Fi Channel: What a disapointment it has become.
Giving the people what they want ... making decisions for the bottom line. LOL, sounds like Jumpgate Evolution.
I think all of TV is one big disappointment, though. |

Nope, no MST3K on Sci-Fi. Occasionally they'll have a marathon day or something, but they're few and far between. Plus they usually play the Mike episodes....and I'm more of a Joel fan. "Fugitive Alien" was my all time favorite.

Re: Sci-Fi Channel: What a disapointment it has become.
I'm not much of a sci-fi purist. the slop they serve during prime time isn't worth scraping off the side of a barn, but that's fairly true for most any channel, in my very humble opinion.
But they usually have something that makes me chuckle on saturday mornings, and that's some prime laying-around-doing-nothing time. So while i'm not going to sing praises or carve golden idols in their image, I'm not too opposed to Sci-Fi. At least it isn't the damn lifetime channel. Jesus. Here's a hint: They large, muscular male with dark hair _always_ did it, and it was _always_ done to the waif-like female who cries in the mirror because of it. Oh, and ++ to The Soup. Best show ever. It's the only way I can keep up with what kids are talking about. |
