I netflixed this again recently, and watched it this weekend. I did this primarily for the leaf on the wind part, and it sure seemed a lot shorter and less powerful this time around. Of course, I was also delighted by the 'twixt my nethers' line, but that's been a personal favorite for a long time.

I saw some of them episodes but not the whole deal, Serenity looks well done, amazing graphics and loved many of the space shots.

It's a movie that basically condenses Joss Whedon's planned Season 2 thru 3 or 4 of Firefly into a 100+ minute movie.

yes, i love firefly. Serenity was cool, but i think it showed a weakness in the plot. I dunno how they were gonna stretched that over 4 seasons.

But it doesn't matter, because the rest of FireFly was top notch. It wasnt just about the backstory. It was a great show, with excellent characters, good acting, and top notch writing.

Too bad FOX is completely incompetent at realizing the talent they have, and often cancel shows before they have a chance to get off the ground.

Firefly was a great show, and Serenity was a good ending to it. Its a shame networks have to take any shows that look remotely interesting and bury them on Friday nights. Dark Angel could have made it farther too if they had put it somewhere else

Firefly/Serenity are great. One liners aside, I think it represents great science fiction. Well thought out, provocative and most importantly a Drama First and Science fiction story second. No one ever solved a problem on Serenity by discombobulating the phase converters and creating an inverse warp shell (TNG/Voy).

I believe there were 14 episodes actually, and not all of them were originally aired. Also, some were aired in a different order than Joss intended.
