I was just talking with DUFFFY who seems convinced that there will be yet another reset to correct yet another economy bug.

He also says, if i understand him correctly, that the game might be 60-90days from going pay to play. =\

I am happy they are finding them now (I wouldnt trust DUFFY he is a spamming ass)... Let me speak to devs and find out wtf?

I found a couple of other operations bugs that have been reported via help desk ticket....

Do all what? Aren't resets a pretty typical part of betas? Granted this is 2 or 3 in ajust a couple days.

Resets are not typical every couple days. What happens when they find a exploit after they release it? Shouldn't they also prepare on how to deal with exploiters months into release? I don't mind every once and a while but this game has lot's of limitations for new accounts and it's a grind. They can reset it every day if they want. But it's the tester who makes the decision on whether they want to continue that grind.

As far as going retail in a couple months? This game needs a lot more if they want people to pay. Especially if they want the US player or EU, etc. The lag is just too high for most of us. Especially in station. Maybe they have a plan to work that out. Who knows? I don't understand most written info or announcements.

At this moment I can say I wouldn't pay to play this game. There are way to many bugs, and the exploits are just amazing. Hopefully they will develop a way to deal with those doing exploits without making all of us suffer each and every time one is discovered.

Well, I know the first twelve missions or so at least kind of work. I'm not to keen on testing them 4 more times in a row just to be reset though, especially since I would reckon there will be quite a few more exploits found since this is the first they are trying of a functioning economy.

We should probably see if we can farm something....

I definitely agree with those points. Resetting just cuz an exploit was found is kind of dumb, but I suppose when everyone has just been reset, if someone is using a major exploit right out of the gate that may feel that it is better to put everyone on even footing again. Perhaps they should think about banning people who abuse exploits rather than reporting them instead of just resetting everyone though.

Here is what I know so far.

Tomorrow morning there will be a meeting. At that time there will a decision to take 2 courses of action:

Complete server wipe

or

Select character wipe

There will be action taken against others who exploited the economy bug. The Hoplon management is quite pissed about the exploits.

Additionally the corporation will likely be wiped as well.

From what I understand, those in certain range of earnings will likely be targeted. It has been confirmed that a list of potential exploiters has been compiled.

Tomorrow promises to be interesting.

I think the problem here is that it's been in beta so long that people tend to forget that it's a beta. After a time it becomes the game they play everyday. Long continuous beta's can do this sort of thing to people after a time.
