Re: Downloading client...

Logfins are fine to start. The fighters just have too little space to do much more that small missions or carry extra ammo.

Re: Downloading client...

Well bummer... I ended up getting stuck in Iceball because my game kept crashing after I logged in. I didn't get a chance to figure out all aspects of the game (myself and Wolfkin recieved a 750,000 donation to play with) as a result but I figured out most of the stuff I need to know for a quick start.

What do you guys plan to do once you get into the game? I figured I would grab the cheapest explorer with good cargo space and mine Iceball until I can afford a freighter.

Anyway, tonight is reset night so no biggie... Can anyone tell me if it will be possible to buy the game off their website? If it's retail I won't see it in any stores here until 2010 :P

Re: Downloading client...

My plan is the same as the last reset. Test, test, test and post any bugs that I find.

Of course getting an explorer with decent cargo space will be on the top of my list. And mining iceball / sedna works really well for making the startup cash needed for better ships and the reformation of Shlonk. But I tend to try and go where there isn't 900 people all trying to do the same thing. I have many ways to make some cash and I'll contact you in game if your online and invite you to come along.

It is going to be a looong time for me before I can even get into a decent explorer like the Longfin.

Re: Downloading client...

Tried it on sunday, the game crashed every time i tried to leave the station. Time to start searching their tech forums to see if its a vista issue or a video card issue...

Re: Downloading client...

I had a similar issue, all I could do was open a ticket and send them console.log but they already knew about the bug. I think they are meant to move you elsewhere.

Re: Downloading client...

Clearing your JAVA console cache helps alleviate problems. Make sure you have the latest JAVA as well.

Re: Downloading client...

The problem seems to be internal to the game, reinstalling java and the client itself didn't really help me. No biggie, once the reset is all done I should be fine. I think the problem only occurs in certain locations and the workaround is to get the GM's to move you elsewhere.

Re: Downloading client...

Reinstalling JAVA is great but it doesn't empty the JAVA cache. That has to be done manually and has helped many with problems.
